We hear so often "We're tired of hearing the voice of the adoptive parent, we need more adoptees!" which we don't disagree with... completely. What we don't agree with is people putting down the voice of the parent. Let us know what your thoughts on today's episode are!
We also have our Podcast up and running! Check out yesimadopted.com/podcast to hear more of our unfiltered thoughts on adoption.

As a fellow adoptee, I love the work you are doing. I agree that all of us ought to be working daily become better human beings. I am off of all social media at this point, because of the cess pool that it is. When I was on there I saw many comments from adoptive parents and HAPs that were just down right narcissistic, insensitive, and disgusting. My advice for someone who has adopted or wants to adopt would be to do some deep self examination and reflection. Why do you want to raise someone else's child? Are you trying to fill a hole in your life? Fill that hole before you get the child. That child is not going to fix anything. Be really confidant in your own identity and value so that you can help the child figure out theirs. They are not a blank slate that you can mold into whatever you think they should be. Deal with the grief that you have from your infertility. Adopting a baby does not change that. If you REALLY want to help a child, support a charity that helps women keep their babies instead of starting a Go Fund Me to get donations to get someone else's baby. Understand that when a baby loses their mother, their whole entire family and their heritage on the day they are born, they are coming from a place of trauma and loss at a cellular level. Be sensitive to that from day one.

Thanks your support! Often it comes down to that: be the adult in the situation and be a full human before you try to raise another human. Thanks for watching!!!

So grateful for your support. Quite honestly I have felt more supported and encouraged by your videos than any other resource I've found. You've given me hope for success and happiness for my girls.

Thanks for YOUR support! These videos have been fun/interesting to make and the community that's grown up around them has been delightful. We're glad to be able to provide our perspective and have very much appreciated how it has been received. 🙌🙌🙌

I'm so glad to hear you guys talk about this. I'd like to adopt one day and I worry about my future kids hating me for it. I'm pleased you both had overall positive home lives and childhoods and I hope one day someone will say the same about my parenting and the life I provide for them.

There's a lot of resources out there, but you really have to sift through them to find things that are useful. We've talked before about how our perspective isn't one you'd often come across because, well, it's not dramatic, but sometimes that's what the community needs to hear. Thanks for watching!!!

Based on the time period of adoption being a thing in modern times, these “parents “ are 100% allowed to, be judged by adoptees.

Good video guys, thanks. I've heard you mention legacy many times, can you explain your thoughts on that some more, what it is, what it means.. do you think you view being part of a legacy differently bc you are men? Do you think it is handled differently by adopters bc you were boys/ are men?

That's interesting, and we'd not really thought about it. We'll put that on the docket to discuss in the future. Thanks for watching!!!
