This is the last episode of the season 😢. Fret not! We will be back in October.
For the final episode, we decided we wanted to bring things back to a positive light. We discuss the great things about adoptees and why we're proud to have been adopted. Not everyone's story is the same, but we believe that everyone has something amazing about them.
Make sure to check out yesimadopted.com to catch up on all the older episodes and to find our resource page with a lot of book and key teachings on how to raise adoptees and just be better people.
Thanks for joining us for Season 4 and we'll be back in October!

❤️❤️❤️ Love it. I love how you explain my daughter's behavior which I observe but don't always have the right words to put with it. My oldest is definitely hyper aware! I always jsut marvel at how observant she is. She will ask me if I remember someone we saw and when I say no she then gives me every detail of the person she is discussing and eventually I will recall the passing of the individual but none of those details. My youngest, being adopted at one and a half instead of birth, is super resilient. I'm amazed at how well she's adapted so quickly. I can see it in her as she grieves and then at one point makes the internal decision she can do this. Her shoulders square and she takes a deep breath and gets a look in her eye and the grieving stops and she moves into the next phase. Absolutely amazing. The oldest has more difficulty but in some ways she's had far more change with multiple moves (We're a military family which brings another set of challenges). But at such a young age she's already working through stages of grief and as an adult I think she will be quite resilient also. Both are rediculously smart and of course I'd love them even if they weren't but I do very much enjoy watching them learn at lightening speeds and being able to have conversations with a four year old that most teens wouldn't even have. I love watching both of their minds work as they figure things out. And lastly, I've learned a great deal about nature verses nurture that is opposite from what I'd expect, especially with my oldest who we've had since birth. There are certain characteristics of their birth culture that come out despite being in an American environment. Both girls still choose to Kim Chi Squat instead of sit on their bottom. It's quite common for a Korean who speaks English to pronounce or add an E sound to the end of certain words and for a long time my oldest did that with the word orange even though she hadn't heard it from us. It was super cute. We love these little pieces of their culture that comes out mixed in with the culture and identities we've imparted on them.... You should be careful asking a mom what do they love about their child. You'll get a book. I could go on and on.
