Fellow michigander here. This video just popped up in my algorithm. I love your setups, especially the last one. I'm trying to get more into small sketches without using a whole plein air setup with tripod and backpack. Its a genius idea and now I'm motivated to create a set that works for me.

At 5.46 you mention you use the lid of a metal box as a mixing surface. If I could make a recommendation, if you use Yupo paper cut to size and spray adhesive in place it makes a very nice white colour to mix paint on instead of the metal of the box. You can see the true colours. Yupo is a synthetic paper you can wipe clean after every use. It's very handy. Hope you find this useful. Cheers.

You have some great ideas I'm going to incorporate. I use a wrist sweatband for wiping brushes on. I also use put my Portable Painter Mini inside a wristband to give it a bit of extra protection, they're the perfect size. I wanted to see what you had in your pencil case in the second bag but you didn't show that. Only suggestion is maybe to practice your delivery a bit, to get a smoother presentation.
@dustinmyeye-trin6 ай бұрын
Thanks! I have often thought those wristbands would work well. Great idea to protect the mini! I posted a photo on my community page of what was in the pencil case. I had done a fair number do overs and missed opening it on this take. 🫤 This video is a year old, I think I've gotten a bit more comfortable. It was difficult trying to get everything I needed in the shot. Thanks so much for your feedback! 😊
