Midnight street food tour by tuk tuk featuring a lovely Bangkok local as your guide! This foodie + travel vlog sums up one of the most exciting activities we did during our stay in Bangkok Thailand, and showcases a fantastic way that you can do so much in such a short amount of time.
We hope this video shows you that:
a) Thai cuisine has some of the most epic eats in ALL of Asia
b) Why a food tour is one of the best ways to find your bearings when arriving in a new city
c) That Bangkok will elevate you into SENSORY OVERLOAD!
When you think of Bangkok, you think of street foods, and the endless array of bustling markets in which they're found in all their glory.
Often rated as the best city in the world for street food, the star players here are fresh produce + flavour combinations, and it's easy to see why the city is home to an incredible 36 Michelin stars, and 361 dining establishments in the overall MICHELIN Guide.
We decided to do this food tour on our second night after landing in the country, and we absolutely loved it. We were able to see and taste so much in such a compact amount of time, with a very knowledgeable local guide leading us the whole way through. It was made even more adventurous as the three of us we breezed through the city from sunset to midnight under the direction of our skilful tuk tuk driver.
The foods we tasted were as follows:
- Papaya salad
- Grilled tilapia
- Tom saap
- Mango sticky rice
- Pa tong go donuts
- Thai crepes
- Crispy chicken noodle stir fry + runny egg
- Vegetarian noodle stir fry w+ scrambled egg
- Original pad thai
- Signature pad thai
- Coconut and banana mini pancakes
We also got to cool off with an included drink at a rooftop bar featuring a stunning vantage point of the iconic Wat Arun temple, plus experience a touch of Thai culture at the 24 hour flower market.
Needless to say we highly recommend this food tour, especially if you are pressed for time here and wanting to maximise what you can experience. Plus you get to taste first hand the very reason why Thai cuisine makes the world's taste buds soar!
