@@legopeaces all the work was outsourced to foreign countries. You can always tell the difference between fitted hats from China, from USA, Bangladesh (the worst) and Vietnam (awful). The US always had different material that made it look softer and had more of an old school baseball feel, they also would sit a different way on your head with a lot of crown variations.. forget about recently, if you really wanna talk the holy grail of these hats you’d look at one from 1996-2009 it something. The China ones are more stiff and have a more uniform look, the material is rougher, it’s not bad, I own some good China hats and they look clean, but they’re obviously cheaper looking meaning they’re cheaper to make: The crowns are debatable, like I said I’ve been able to spend time and get some ones that fit and conform to my head- but anyone who is a fan of USA made hats probably has the opinion that their crowns sit too high or too wide. Bangladesh 🇧🇩 is complete garbage, and it seems a year or two after they stopped making in USA, they ramped up production in Bangladesh. I could barely find made in China anymore in stores or online it’d be hit or miss. They are grotesquely wide and stupidly tall, anyone who doesn’t have a circular shaped head is in trouble. They do good on people with bigger rounder heads, I always look at those hats in amazement imagining it could fit a watermelon or Frankenstein. Cheap smelly material, it’s stiff and more dull than the Chins ones. I gave up somewhere around 3 years ago, since 2020 new era has been straight trash and I haven’t gotten a hat since, sadly, wish I could find a good one but I can’t. Also the way they put the NE logo on every hat now I think looks tacky and is sellout behavior, one of the many little reasons I don’t watch baseball anymore too

Considering there are less laws preventing it in certainty Asian countries. Hopefully one day we will both be able to buy one. Hopefully they up the quality and lower the slavery.

Not in the latter years 😅. Living in Europe and having to import them just to get made in USA ones and then finding out the sizing had changed (around 2012ish) to on par with made in China ones so they were too big and returning them was way too costly ☠

I figured these were made in China. When I try to buy one I take several of "my size" off the shelf and try them on until I find one that fits. They are not made to a uniform size at all. I never or one online because of this.

They made them from the beginning to 2007. Since then they started to manufacture them overseas although almost all Onfield caps were still made in the US. But I think the last US factory closed few years ago, so every cap is made somewhere else but USA.

So the size is determined and the bottom edge band but all the material throughout the rest of the cap is all the same size? I have a smaller head. No wonder while my hats may fit, they are a little bulgy throughout the hate while people with bigger heads probably have a more solid fit. SMH

Why the button on the top? It's the last thing they do before it gets boxed up and not required for the manufacture of the hat. They are the most annoying things if you try to wear a baseball helmet (or any kind of helmet) over your cap. It focuses the pressure to a little point that digs into the top of your head. I pull them off with a plyers.

this made me sad to see, since no more made in USA. China hats are crap, but sometimes can find one that fits appropriate, although rare. Unfortunately in 2019 most seem to be made in Bangladesh, which is even more horrific than China. The material is cheap, the sides stick out over your ears, and the crowns are so bulbous you could fit it over a bowling ball. This was the final straw that made me no longer purchase them
