And yes I agree that for legal and other practical purposes, it makes life easier. If other women chose to keep their maiden name or even have their husbands' take on their last name, by all means be my guest. As for me and my house, we're happy and love to have one name that represents us as a family unit.

I've always found it strange that society still forces women to give children their spouse's last name rather than theirs, the mother. Honestly, if I were a woman who had to carry and deliver a child, and unfortunately in many situations even raise children on my own and not get to give them my last name, I would be pissed lol.
