I have this welder, it’s a great little machine . I called the company regarding dual shield flux core. They didn’t go into too much detail about it. So I bought a spool, and ran it with no problems. It’s not something i run every day but it’s nice to have for thicker steel. You have to turn up the heat a little but it runs great. Make note it’s DCEP, not plain flux core DCEN. You also need to run it in manual mode with 75/25 CO2 or synergic mode 75/25 CO2 you also need to change out to the flux wheel (035)

I bought one. It welds nicely. The one quibble I have is that I wish they’d made the door a bit bigger to make accessing the wire feed easier. It’s kinda fiddly to change up rollers and feed the wire in because the access is so tight. I replaced an AHP AlphaMig 250…aka Eastwood Pro Mig 250 with the Yes Welder unit…gave the old one to a good employee…because the Yeswelder is 1/3rd the size. It welds just as well, but man do I miss the ease of loading the big beast had. I will say the stick function isn’t the best. Compared to my AHP Stick 160, it stick the leads more and just isn’t as clean running 7018. But I bought it mostly for the MIG function and already repaired a trailer ramp with it.

All an inverter does is chop the incoming AC SINE in half and send 1/2 of it out as a direct current. That’s it. The traditional way to do this was with big ole heavy transformers that could take huge incoming AC power and step it down thru copper windings, and diode rectified to produce DC. They’re very heavy, and very expensive to make. And not portable. So when you want a portable, inexpensive device that NEEDS high current handling, active / solid-state rectification is the best trade off. There are pure analog varieties generally called a half-bridge rectifier (just diodes) and digital (diodes, transistors and circuitry) … These lesser expensive multiprocessor welders are usually DC only. Meaning, you can’t do aluminum TIG which requires high frequency (stable) AC. To do that requires much more sophisticated circuitry. Remember voltage and current are inversely proportional. (P=IR) For a given amount of work (watts). So when I need to have a variable current (like in a welder) I need a power supply or circuitry capable of reacting to me asking it to reduce or increase the amount of current, without changing the actual input from the wall. ) That’s what makes multiprocess a trade off. They can’t be great at everything , the cost would be prohibitive. You’d be better served to have a dedicated AC pure sine TIG, and a decent MIG/Stick for you’re run of the middle metal gluing needs :)

I would think that you're having some sort of impedance in the wire feed that's not letting the wire feed as needed. Check the tension on the wire rollers inside the cabinet. Also make sure that you have the correct roller on there and the correct side of the roller. If you're running the teflon tube, then make sure that it's not melted at the gun.

I build metal buildings in Texas. I’ve thought about switching to these over our Lincoln ranger 250’s, I’ve recently seen other crews using them. I’m curious, you said it has 60% duty cycle, 6 minutes of weld time within 10 minutes. So in other words, if I was welding steel clips into beams for an hour, I’d only be able to weld for 6 minutes, then wait 4 minutes, then weld and then wait again? I’m new to these lunch box welders and have only every used gas powered stick welders with two knobs on them. Just needing to know if it’d be worth it. Our welders are old and need replacing but Jesus, the prices of welders have skyrocketed.
@bigfranksworld
@bigfranksworld Жыл бұрын
No, it means that for every 10 minutes, you can weld for 6 minutes. Unless you are continuously welding (most people dont), your probably never going to hit that duty cycle. And that is on 250 volts. Using a lower voltage will get you a higher duty cycle.

Sorry, but stupid me, followed the instructions and started the machine in the Synergic mode and then tried to change the speed setting. When I didn't find the speed setting I changed the settings that I had access to. Now, I simply want to get the synergic mode back to its original settings so I can try it our. It took a while, but eventually I changed to the manual mode and there was the SPD setting waiting for me, contrary to the instructions....Please help, tech support keeps sending me to videos that the operator never adjusts the synergic internal settings, those that are accessed by depressing the knob while in the synergic mode.

You aren’t really doing this welder any justice by showcasing how novice of a welder you are using it. It’s a great machine and I know cuz I own one myself, but making a review on it using the newb synergic setting and throwing shitty welds doesn’t help sell it at all. Try using manual mode and the Miller or Lincoln charts and you’ll be surprised how much better your welds will come out. Don Riead’s channel has a really good review and he is more than happy to email his cheat sheet he has made for the manual settings which work absolutely great.

I've found that the Miller settings are pretty close if you use the manual mode. So if you find a Miller table, that will get you pretty close. From there, you're just tuning your preferences. I've heard they wear out quickly with steel wire.
@dustinniemeier3898
@dustinniemeier3898 2 жыл бұрын
The Teflon liner is designed to be the more compatible, or forgiving material in allowing the softer aluminum wire to be pushed all of the way through the torch stinger; from off of the supply spool, through the drive rollers, and ultimately out the end of the contact tip of the torch gun. The regular, or standard steel liner is too stiff of a highway for aluminum wire. Now, you'd think that that would be a good thing. But, apparently it is not. The aluminum wire should be the stiffer material that takes precedence in the delivery. It could also be that, in the fact that we try to keep mild and stainless steel separate from aluminum (be it because of cross contamination, or whatnot), the aluminum wire tends to get stuck while traversing a steel liner, and jamming up at the drive rollers, creating a bird's nest situation. I also was wondering if when the steel liner was used with the aluminum wire, that maybe with the bit of greater conducive properties that the aluminum has, that it may be "micro-arcing" out within the steel liner at times; thus causing it to hang up within, and jam & bird's nest up at the rollers. That's as good as I can explain it, I guess!

That stuff does make me wonder. They pair some really good components with their stuff, but then they have some oddities as well. Thanks for watching.

Real nice video....just wouldn't buy for any serious welding...it looked like it was maxed out on that 1/4 " steel ... Don't believe there welders are rated for the true amps they state...

You state "MIG.TIG.STICK, weld anything" yet you only perform a 1G-F6 on SAE 1020 carbon steel. Why didn't you demonstrate how the machine performs welding stainless and aluminum with all 3 available processes?

You can MIG with flux-core (no gas) and you can also MIG With gas. We were welding with 030 wire and Argon/CO2 gas. Thanks for watching.

I'm sure if I wanted to weld 1/2" steel plate with this machine, I could. At the same time, I would not recommend this welder if that's what your needs are. Thanks for watching.

It will weld 1/2 steel do you need to do a route pass and a multipass after. there’s plenty of power. I have no issues with it.

Why would anyone pull weld at 250. Pull the trigger push the gun and stop moving around. it`s pull on thin push on thick for penetration. this video left me unimpressed.

Push your weld, don't pull. Your shielding gas can't do it's job 100% if you don't let it get ahead of the arc to clean the area and stabilize the arc.

It would be nice to control both voltage and amperage. No this machine won’t allow this. Won’t allow it in manual mode either. Also melted the mig gun at 250a flux core welding. They sent a new one which I’ll save for a back up. Ordered a 250a gun on eBay for this machine. I want this machine to weld fluxcore only.

Rebranded junk! Lookup Keygree welders. Can be had for 150-200 all day online. This one is a rebranded Keygree 250 as far as I can see. I have a error 1 code on display. Units only been used for 30 min since ai bought it...They said out of warranty nothing they can do.. which I get.. however they also would not allow me to talk to support direct, only a call center. They also blocked my email when I tried to ask them about what part needs replacing or what error code meant... Buyer beware. Hope my incident was a fluke. Really liked the welder when it worked but feeling a bit hung out to dry.

I doesn't seem like you have enough welding skill or knowledge to do welder reviews. You seem to not be able to explain your troubleshooting, the how's and why's of the adjustments. None of your welds looked very good either. Nice video though!

250 amp welder that can't weld 3/8 Steel?. I have a Miller 185 that'll probably eat that thing for dinner. And I have a spool gun for aluminum. Is this welder really that good. It can't even weld quarter inch. It says online that it will only weld 13/64" and you mentioned this welder being the bigger welder.?

I have a Miller 211 that had 3 spools ran through it over 3 years and the board crapped out and Miller could care less.
