Thank you so much. We launched into living frugally 3 years ago and love finding new ways to stop wasting resources and redirecting them into investing opportunities. I have a part 4 coming soon! Appreciate you

Tldr 1. Alcohol, especially at restaurants/bars 2. Lottery tickets (or as I call it, the stupid tax) 3. TV shopping/infomercials 4. Online download movies (personally. I just watch everything for free on one of those pirate sites) 5. Impulse buys 6. Supplements (as a nutritionist, the only supplement everyone needs is B12) 7. Books (use a library!) 8. Single use products like paper towels add up 9. Extended warranties 10. Retail therapy (find positive ways to cope with life) 11. Specialty foods (sorry friend, but free range eggs are a lie and cause colorectal cancer so don't buy eggs period) 12. Costco/Sam's Club membership Bonus: Christmas pajamas

Thank you for the feedback, and love your notes. Can't give up my free-range eggs, but I will certainly agree with the 'stupid tax' and using the local library, excellent recommendation. Appreciate you

I thought your stance on supplements for people that lift weights interesting. Firstly I want to say that I 100% agree on almost all gym supplements. I do buy protein powder (flavourless, I make my own smoothies with fruit with it) and it comes down to like 90 eurocents per portion which for me beats any other protein source. That's like 27gr of milk protein and if I want to get that from yoghurt for example I am paying at least double. I still eat the yoghurt, but the protein supplement gives me that extra bit for the days that I go to the gym and if I'm recovering from a heavy session. I don't use it if I didn't work out a lot. The only thing that sucks is that you have to buy a couple of kilo's to get that value and I last months with that, but it's a bigger investment that doesn't fit into my monthly budget for food just like that.

I also take creatine but that is very inexpensive. The protein powder stance is just a personal one. I prefer just a wholesome food diet at my age, and all the benefits that brings for my over 50 year old body. PP is an excellent way to boost protein intake, and relatively inexpensive as you rightly said. At my age I am not looking to add muscle mass, I just LOVE lifting for fun. Cheapest therapy there is! Appreciate you

I surely must not be the only one that sees these points as common sense. I thought that retail therapy was a joke except for the wealthy and ultra wealthy?

lmao yea i dont do any of these cause i'm broke

Retail therapy IS a joke in my opinion, but I see it all around me. If most people followed these points as their baseline for financial literacy I thin we would have far less people living under increasing debt and money worries. To prove a point I was one of them less than 4 years ago. Appreciate you
