I put a casa layshaft on mine, very nice, and an FA Italia hub, I did the oil seal with a Rolf and secured it with an MB oil seal retaining plate.. definitely spend a bit extra for quality bits... top video Rob..👍👍✌

Looks like that engine was built by someone who wasn’t really up to the job but at least it’s now in safe hands. Personally I would only fit the Casa multi splined shaft and octopus hub. No more cones, easy to remove the hub and it doesn’t need such a high torque setting. Not cheap but it could save your life.

I've told you before that I have destroyed a casa hub. They are also really tight on the brake pads so you have to use loads of time with sandpaper to get them to fit properly.

I had zero issues with brake shoes on mine, fitted perfectly first time. The hub is as strong as anything out there and the shaft is bomb proof, not designed for ten horse power like the original ones. Also the hub runs true not being reliant on bedding on a cone, plus no hub puller needed.

Piston looks like theres no piston shims on the gudgeon pin, mine was like this, blasting down the side of the piston...GP crank.

The crank is shimed which makes piston shims redundant with any "modern" crankshaft. Never use shims both ends.

Hi, another great video. I’ve just fitted a new kick start shaft to my li 125 series 3 . Had to grind a few mil of so I could shim shaft. When casing is back on loosely, it kicks down . When fully tightened, the kick start will not move ! Any ideas ? Thank you 😊

Distance diagnosis is pretty hard but are you fitting a gp shaft in a li case?

Check that your cush drive is fit correctly with the top hat sliding down the splines. I see that a lot.

Rt cylinder, original clutch with new plates, BGM crankshaft and a clubman exhaust. You can also look at the offerings from scootopia and casa 185 or mugello cylinder. All these would work well for you.
