I have been thunking about buy a AF5 speed gearbox with my hardearned dole money only joking before the keyboard warriors start bashing away on their keys like Keith Moon on a new drum kit and was wondering should I also renew the layshaft in the process

Yes! AF make a specific layshft to make fitting their 5 speed box easier.

Happy New Year, Rob! Good video! Yeah, my TS1 with long rod makes it difficult to remove while in the frame unless I remove the head and the cylinder studs. So I mostly just pull the engine bolt and drop the front of the motor all the way down, supporting the engine case on a plank of wood. Hopefully I won't have to strip the top end any time soon.

Am I right in saying that you’re going to get a Max Quattrini engine for your lammy because they are a thing of beauty
@kickbackgarage6 күн бұрын
No. But I am going to build and fit a Quatrini in my S1 while I wait for my other engine.
@anthonyscott81567 күн бұрын
Wrong, the cut out goes to the airbox, look at the side profile and you will also see it’s bent to the shape of the frame as well.
@thomaskunkel74608 күн бұрын
Hello my lovely! RLC does a forged piston in 70 mm with 32mm piston crown. This is the only replacement available for the RT Reed tune with 116mm con road. The Wössner pistons only have 30mm crown height which would need altering of the cylinder head.
@kickbackgarage7 күн бұрын
Rlc don't do D size.
@thomaskunkel74606 күн бұрын
Yes, I know. But once the cylinder is replated you should be able to use an A/B grade piston, don‘t you think? The plating is about 0,06-0,07 mm thick. That is what I‘ve heard, to be honest.

Another great video rob,just wanted you to know that watching your videos has given the confidence to buy a non running engine to repair which I have never done before I've got it fully stripped down and have all the parts and tools coming as Xmas presents,I intend to rebuild it as standard just to see if I can get it going and then I'm probably thinking similar to George quick about achieving a bit of a boost in performance ,at that point I'll have a word with Ben at Rayspeed to decide which way to go,many thanks for all your videos Alan
