the old BBQ forks /marshmallow roasters with the longer tines work well for rods, they are tough and free if you have some old ones( most people have a half dozen, I did 😊

True that. I had a guy tell me he made a field expedient version out of two chopsticks taped to a pocket knife. If it works, it works. .

Thanks Shane, in an hours time I had made the spring compression tool and took apart my no.101 model 36 single shot and put it back together. I have never done it before! I used a 1” dowel for the handle and 2 11” pieces of wire spaced .6” apart cut from a political campaign sign. Excellent videos!

I made mine by just bending a 1/8" steel rod into a U and that has worked for me, but I could stand to make something better.

Helpful video and thanks for the links to the tool. Is there a place where I can buy a stronger main spring for my old red ryder?

I have a question Shane Bruce. Is 3-IN-OIL ok to put in the oil hole of a Daisy Red Ryder? 2 drops a year or 3/400 Shots. Thank You

It's OK but it won't last as long as 30 weight non detergent motor oil. Cost more too. Daisy says 1 or 2 drops every 500 or so shots. If you plan to use it regularly.

Nice tool! Side note: I keep looking for instructions, but I don't see how you remove the loading port in a 1998 model. (1938-B). Your disassembly video skipped over that part. Can anyone help?

Hi Shane. If I emailed you some photos I was wondering if you could help me identify a Daisy? It looks like some strange Model 94 Red Ryder. It has a horse head stamp on the plastic butt stock, right-hand side, a gold coloured 3 star lever. It also has a hammer and, again on the right-hand side, 4 stars stamped into the part of the receiver that holds the lever. The forestock appears to be metal and the same colour as the barrel. Cheers, Alan.

That sounds like a Daisy Model 660 Richochet Rifle that's been modded. Have you taken the forearm off, the 660 was the only model I'm aware of that had a metal forearm and it houses a small drum that makes a richochet sound when fired. I've never seen one with the gold lever, stamped stock and hammer and stamped reciever. Please do send some pix!

@@RestOModDaisy Could be but it also has a hammer which I believe the 660 didn't have. Anyway, pictures sent to your TheSocietyforProfit address. Cheers, Alan.

Could it be a Model 94 Red Ryder that's had the Richochet forestock fitted and a different stock?

Small frame Daisy toy guns are notorious for having odd combinations of parts.@@RetroSteamTech

Yup. That's a possiblity. If the stock is on but there's no Ricochet mechanism under it that's what happened. I have a Canadian Model 94 that has a roll stamp on the top of the reciever that simply states "No. 94" with no other marks.@@RetroSteamTech

Definately would be intrested to add one to my Gun tools as slowly adding to my Daisy collection, todays addition being an 880 that I'm already pondering mods for. PS did you get the drinking game info alright?

Yep, I have to say that I would not be able the read the end credits of the movie if I stuck to the rules of the game.
