Yet another UK motorcycle trip - part 5 - Bwlch y Groes, Hellfire pass

Welcome to the fifth part of our 2021 UK motorcycle touring videos in which we are reaching Bala and Corwen... and we are going to Northern par of Wales through Bwlch y Groes - the second highest Welsh mountain pass, called in English - the Hellfire pass . There is not much to say really as you just need to watch the video. Hope you will enjoy it as much as we did.

Using 3 RAM Touch claws makes mounting the 360 cam a lot easier, but you already know that probably. Another nice episode, enjoyed it very much. Keep going.

I don't think I'll use much of 360's in the future. There's to much work in post processing that. Glad you liked it though 😉

More cameras more fun.. how difficult is it to edit new insta 360 videos? That's looks great a huge upgrade for your channel Happy Easter

It's way more difficult to edit and I don't think it's really worth all that effort. Also here it wasn't just 360's. We had 5 cameras with different angle so that made a difference

360 cams are good for lazy videographers, like me. I just stick it on my handlebars and use the autotracking feature afterwards. Personally I like using a 360 cam, I can enjoy the ride and not worry about the camera and camera angles, I do that when I get home. But the picture quality of a normal actioncam is a lot better. This is a video I made from a ride last Saturday, edited before the family was awake before Easter breakfast kzbin.info/www/bejne/h3SUpKWml8-qpJI Used a 360cam mounted next to the left mirror and a cheap actioncam on my helmet.

nice video, great scenery. love the LUT but I find it a bit too dark. still good though 👍

I know what you mean. In most cases it's dark because of the British weather. Cloudy and dull. But of course my grading is rather worsening the situation unless like in 0:42 the sun will come out. I wonder if you saw it to dark in Spanish episodes of my Iberian trip as well.

​@@UncleLongbeard Yeah I use LUT aswell and like you say, sometimes it tends to get too dark depending on shadows and clouds etc. But for this video, I meant in general even when the sun was out. I found it too dark really. Highly personal opinion of course. I'm more into a more "summery sunny weather with nice colors" rather than a more bleak dark sunny (yet cinematic) look. But that's just my thoughts =) If you watch my video called "6000 Year Old Road (+ Neolithic Graves)" then jump to the 1:30 mark you can see it going from cloudy to sunny but the cloudy not being too dark and then when the sun pops out i think the picture looks very nice. Although I don't use any cinematic LUT's like you do but just color correction and some other minor details. We all like different looks =)

Oh yes indeed, it's brighter in your video but at the expense of the clouds ;) As a film photographer I am possibly a bit too oversensitive about exposure, so I couldn't stand washed out sky ;) Possibly 1EV too much for me. Anyways I guess that the ideal goal would be somewhere in between our examples, and I completely agree that this video is too dark at the moments. That's partially due to the colour synchronization problems. Matching colours between those 5 cameras and colour grading them at the same time...was a bit of overkill really. I would need to leave it alone for a month, go back to that with a fresh perspective and then on top of that a few more days to correct the previous mistakes. Not really worth it ;) but I should :D

​@@UncleLongbeard Yeah I'm just a nobody with little experience when it comes to this and I evolve during time ... don't watch my earlier test ride videos. i cringe when I watch the LUT's I was using "back then" hehe. I know what you mean. mixing with the luts in "each" clip depending on weather etc would be such a hassle really. Like you, I just put my LUT on and leave it like it is to save time. Not many watch my videos anyways so hehe...

Class, we stayed in the Crown just as it opened with new management and they were lovely. We filled outside the front with ten bikes and they were safe enough there's a couple of photos that have had about 100,000 views on Google so they were defo bike friendly. Maybe we ruined it?

I heard that it was new management already and they were quite friendly except they were a bit against parking in front. Don't know why really. Possibly car drivers were making them angry with parking there

@@UncleLongbeard maybe but they do have a big enough car park at the rear. We couldn't park there as it had a big tent in coz we couldn't drink inside at that time. A lady from the shop over the road offered us parking in front of her show which was nice. We all seemed to like it there. Decent location too :)

@@mykheaton we were initially offered a place next to the shops there as well but later hotel reminded themselves about the parking at the back which was only used by workers. So eventually it all ended well for us.

Not sure what you mean exactly. There are no big cities nearby. 100km to Cardiff or Birmingham. A few smaller like Aberystwyth nearby though
