Rode both, and noticed the 130 felt better to climb because it is more lively from the faster steering. The 150 is an absolute monster on the downhills and for most trails simply not needed. The advice is right on.

I rode both at Outerbike and the 150 pedals heavier but confidence everywhere. I stopped watching the trail and started looking for bigger extra credit while riding the 150. more bike than most trails need.

Yeti have made the CLR and TLR versions of the sb130, with 137mm of travel and 160mm of fork with the fox 36 grip 2. It starts to be very interesting! The best of both worlds in my opinion!
@WorldwideCyclery5 жыл бұрын
Totally true! The LR models are top shelf!
@LP-ll8td5 жыл бұрын
@@WorldwideCyclery Finally! Someone mentions the TLR! Very interesting bike! The added travel makes it very close to the Ibis Ripmo in terms of suspension travel. Also great to get the GRIP2 up front along with the 200mm brake rotors. Are the Code brakes better than the Guide offered on the TOTL T3 model? On paper, it looks like an interesting "half step" towards the 150. Can any mechanic extend the DPX2 to 137mm or does that require Ibis/Fox? Lastly, do the changes brought to the TLR impact the climbing/pedalling platform in any way?

Thanks for the great video - I have a quick question. I see that on the SB130 they went with a FIT4 (3 position lever w/LS adjustment on open) vs FIT GRIP2 (HSC, LSC, HSR, LSR) damper on the 36 Fox Float. The Fox website states that only FIT4 is available on the 150 but I believe Transition Smuggler is running a FIT GRIP2 on their 140 mm 36 Fox Float Performance so it can be done. Any thoughts on why they decided to go with the FIT4? Obviously for more trail riding oriented bike, having a lever to go from open to firm on long single fireroads or single track climbs is somewhat desirable. That being said, FIT GRIP design features a dynamic bleed system that Fox claims reduces performance-robbing pressure build-up, and improving consistency and reliability. Would you like to have seen a FIT GRIP 2 damper on the 150 travel fork? Do you think FOX will release a FIT GRIP damper with 3 position lever w/LS adjustment on open? Also, is that a Wolftooth 32T oval ring that I see on the black SB130 in the video?
@WorldwideCyclery6 жыл бұрын
Hey, thanks for watching. I think because the SB130 is a trail oriented bike that Fit4 makes sense and I do not think many people who are looking for that category of bike are going to want to have the extra adjustability. I am not sure what Fox has in mind when it comes to the future of their damper line. I think they will continue to use two different damper designs to benefit different styles of customers and always have a simple option and a more complex option with more tuning capability.

@WorldwideCyclery5 жыл бұрын
The SB150 would definitely allow you a little more room to wiggle and give some extra cushion but it may not be worth it depending on where you're riding! I'd say, try to demo both and that should really give you a better idea of what would be reasonable for you.

Any words on the rear shock position? They are not the same...
@WorldwideCyclery6 жыл бұрын
The obvious change is that now with this position Yeti can accommodate a water bottle but I think with their new linkage and having a more inline compression stroke the Switch Inifinty suspension design feels smoother than ever. It helps that the shock pivots on bearings as well. Definite improvement. :)

Surprised the spec on the 150 includes XM1501 wheels. I’ve got XM481s off a yeti which are pretty much the same wheel minus the hub and I’ve always thought they were more for trail/all mountain, I couldn’t imagine how long they’d last for someone like Richie Rude lol
@CampFireJammer6 жыл бұрын
I’ve got a 481 on my front wheel, it recently sliced through the sidewall of a double down dhf smashing into a square edge at 65 km/h and the rim has zero damage, next step up is the ex511 which is slowly replacing the ex471 as the most common rim in World Cup DH, that being said I have seen 511s on Ritchie’s bike, but for 98% of people buying a 150 the 481s are more than tough enough.
