He really is though. I went to Elementary & high school with him. I see him around the North Shore sometimes & he's still the same mellow laid-back dude he was in school.

You know how they say not to meet your heroes ? I had the privilege of Meeting Jack once before one of his shows at the hotel we both happened to be staying at. Its not an act. He is as cool, laid back and humble in real life as he is on camera. We actually talked for 10-15 minutes and he was very engaged in a 2 way conversation. I felt like I was just chatting with a buddy and I am no one to him and there was no one to witness it if he had been rude or brief. He had nothing to gain from our interaction. Jack deserves every gift in life. He is an amazing artist and a gracious human being. Thank you JJ for so many beautiful songs and reminding us all about our place in community and the living world

Same, I meet him right after on of his shows. He was so nice. I walked past his bus and he walked off. He asked if I would like a picture with him and I said of course. We talked about the show. I have been to 4 now and have meet others from the band and everyone is very down to earth. What an amazing man. By far my favorite singer for the past 17 years.

That's a great story I'm glad you shared it! The fact that Jack's been playing with the same band (Merlo, Zach, Adam) for 20 years really always said a lot to me.
@pimpusmaximus32792 жыл бұрын
I could not agree more. I served him 4 years ago in this hotel I worked. Himself and the whole family are truly nice people. He is a great husband and dad. One can tell. I served him several times. Super nice and humble. On his last day when leaving, I was getting slammed busy serving at the full terrace. Himself and his partner waited several minutes at the bar until I was less busy just to thank me for everything and say goodbye. I could not say a bad thing about him for all the gold in the world. Make no mistake its people like him that this planet a better place to be.

During the interview Jack said he will occasionally miss a chord or a note but that it didn't matter. As long as the energy is there, that's all that matters. Sam Phillips also agreed with this. It's truly about the emotion vs the perfection. The audience gets it.
@catherineestrada5873 жыл бұрын
I liked that part he said that as well. Something like if you mess up a chord it doesn't make it less true..I thought like life, right? And had to write it in my journal.
@tahoeben2 жыл бұрын
I've seen Jack in concert twice. He forgot words to multiple songs in both concerts, and I'm sure he missed a chord or two. The energy was there and he kept going!

I love how music isn’t center-stage focal points in their lives, that they take life as it is and treat each aspect of life (surfing, family, music, hardships, bull riding, etc.) not as something important to music, but as what it is. Music is just another good part of life😌

Such a cool conversation and editing. Here’s something random. I have only seen two live music performances in the last 15 years... one was Jack and the other was Ryan. I don’t have a musical bone in my body, but somehow my kid who only just turned 9, taught himself to write, play, and sing. He is going to be sooo stoked to watch this video. Thanks for this.
