Yevgeny Prigozhin death: Vladimir Putin pays tribute to 'talented businessman'

Vladimir Putin has praised Yevgeny Prigozhin as a “talented businessman”, but criticised him for making “serious mistakes” in his first remarks since the Wagner leader’s death.
“I knew Prigozhin for a long time, from the early 1990s. He had a difficult path and made serious mistakes in his life. But he got results - for himself, and when I asked him,” Putin said in a televised address.
The Russian leader expressed his condolences to the victims of the plane crash, which occured on Wednesday evening in the Tver region north-west of Moscow. A total of 10 people died, including six passengers and three crew members.

Prigozhin went too far when his troops advanced to Moscow and downed Russian helicopters. From that point, it was a matter of killing Putin or being killed by him. He should know making a deal was not realistic. I've mentioned this criticism that day but most people disagreed with me by saying "Putin needs Prigozhin".

They don't matter. All of them are virtually incompetent when it comes to running the state or an army, they are actually a huge burden to Russia and it's prosperity and developement. While admitting that anything is possible, I would just ask, if he wasn't on that plane then where is he? I'm comfortable believing he went down with that bird. It's most likely. Speaking of that bird going down, it's my opinion that those final terrifying 30 seconds serve as a fitting consequence to Prigozhin's terrible crimes. Assuming he survived the initial attack. In most plane crashes, the pilots have at least _some degree_ of control over the aircraft. That plane was not being "flown". It was like someone had lifted the fuselage up 28,000 feet and then let go. The thing just tumbled out of the sky. Must have been horrifying. _But so is_ being a Ukrainian civilian when Russian tanks come rolling through. Slava Ukraine.
