Awesome job! Can't get enough of the 80s! So do you play guitar as well? I noticed there was a direct input from guitar. Do you think you could do a video of Great Southern Land by Icehouse? I don't remember this song being played in the USA during the 80s. Only recently discovered it and it has become one of my favorites due to the melody. Would love a tutorial on it!! Thanks Chad! much appreciated - yes i can play bits and pieces on guitar but not very good!. Interesting you mention Great Southern Land, i have been working on this over the past few weeks actually, as the drum is the Linn Drum, and they used the prophet 5 in this track - SO its a work in progress, the guitar backing parts are challenging (for me) but will publish if it turns out. Huge fan of icehouse so there will be more of theirs! When you say tutorial, you mean how to play the song? or how to create using software?

Great cover! I was listening to the intro Justin Beiber's new single "Hold On" and it totally reminded me of this song. Was the original synth sound done on a Prophet 5?

Thank you ! I’ll have to listen to that Justin track ! I am pretty sure it was the prophet 5 I tend to do a bit of research before I do these projects but that being said , I could have just assumed it was the prophet 5 because of the videos online from back then… and I have learnt very quickly since I did this video that sometimes they are just props and not actually working. I think the actual music video of this song the prophet 5 isn’t even plugged in to the power outlet !! It made me laugh, but yes I have new ways now of finding out what gear was used and I mighty double check this one. I have a prophet 6 now and if I had that back when I did this track I would have tried to create a similar sound.

I have thought about it however I don’t know if it would work unless the person downloading it has the same plugins ? Unless it was bounced to audio tracks - which I think defeats the purpose because generally people like the midi data included or the presets … plus then I’d have to pay to store it somewhere so it can be downloaded etc … so it’s something i’d have to think of. If I was a more well known and successful KZbinr than I would consider a patreon .. but unfortunately my content is very very slow and it wouldn’t be right to hand people paying for content once every year lol 😂 I’ll think of something eventually!

Thanks, some of these might not be 100% spot on, but i was happy with it. i dont think its possible to have it sound 100% but, hearing it come together track by track was fun :)! - yes i like to share details about how/where i found sounds within software because then other people can do their own, or play in a band etc.
