Wait till he gets his resprite! It'll be even better than you think! The only things I'm guessing Fabsol and the team need to fix with Yharon now are probably Yharon's sprite work, the possibility of the HP regen transition, and maybe some of the vortex attacks. Either way, very excited for how this fight will turn out at it's final state!

Yep, certainly some good changes right here. Still not a perfect fight, but it seems Yharon is getting better and better. My only complaints is that the "vortex" is basically just a copy pasted effect from the big balls that make the arena, and also the fight does seem a tad bit repetitive.

I suspect that might just be a placeholder. Yharon has needed a resprite for a while and I think they just wanted to have some minor changes for this update and there will likely be a full revamp in the future.

@@ineverrage4176 Probably. I am just hoping they make the fight a bit better overall. It is solid from a gameplay standpoint, but it could use either more attacks or more distinct attacks, along with much better presentation in both sprites and effects/transitions.

I feel like in the calamity mod your the villan. You came into a world and started slaying monsters that did nothing to deserve to die. You slayed a dragon that was willing to give its life for its master. I cant help but feel that in this world, your the villan. You just see the enemys as villans you need to kill to get stronger.

sadly still not a fan of this fight ever since after the rust and dust update. i first fought him in the acid rain update, and even though i admit it wasn't perfect, for me it's gone way downhill since then. the bullet hell doesn't fit my image of what yharon is at all, personally i liked the fast paced aggressiveness of his old attacks, with the teleports and fast charges. pretty consistent fight. i didn't play back then, but his bumblebirb summons from earlier updates looked fun too, maybe a few tweaks to make them better but they looked like they kept you on your toes. now he has a really awkward bullet hell that requires slow precision, something that doesn't really fit a fast flying dragon imo, plus SCal is already a "precision" boss. personally i think the mod should test you in endgame with both speed, precision, and other skills in the form of different endgame bosses. admittedly he did copy duke a lot but seeing as duke was never really that hard for me, plus you have much cooler gear at this point imo, this fight was still unique and fun enough. it made me actually learn how to dodge the duke-like AI due to the high damage. personally i think they could've spun duke's fast AI into something even "better" along those lines. i don't like the direction they've taken this fight personally. oh yeah, and not to mention, the epic transition from phase 1 to 2 was completely changed in such a bad way (to me at least), and i have no idea why they decided to do that. it's such a lame and awful change imo (harsh maybe, i'm just passionate, sorry). overall the fun of this fight was completely ruined for me over the course of several updates, and i see they're still running with it and continuing to go in that direction. but hey, that's just me. maybe everyone else likes it. thats fine. just my thoughts. 👍

The old version basically amounted to "fly in circles and pray you don't get hit" it was never fun or satisfying. I haven't played this version, but it looks much better because it's consistent.

@@zacharyb9636 fair opinion. personally in terms of the first phase, i agree with the whole "fly in circles" part, but i think they could've changed that instead of making the fight more slow and awkward. there was actually a lot of strategy to the later parts of the old fight though, especially the teleportation dashes and remembering where each of the tornados spawned. i have played the new fight and i find the bullet hells to be really awkward and irritiating to dodge, especially since the boss also dashes after you mid-bullet hell. skill issue? probably, but given how much i dislike the current fight and don't find it fun, i don't care to try to figure it out more than i already have. oh yeah, and the current yharon for some reason occasionally teleports right on top of the player. not sure what happened to this fight lol. but anyway, like i said before, you have a valid point. thanks for sharing your point of view, it was interesting to hear what other people think.

Seems there's lots of more experienced players here. I have a question: Is Galaxia a strong enough weapon to fight him or do I have to get something better? I already had to cheat against DoG because he was just too infuriating Edit: Fought it anyway, this boss has _f l a w l e s s_ design compared to DoG and was actually quite fun. It's nice to see that they are making it even better

DoG is design-wise the best boss. Nothing about the fight is unfair, although it is difficult.

@@ericphillips8268 "Nothing about the fight is unfair", there is one thing, the COLOSSAL ammount of hp devs game him. I swear the big jump in HP was just too much, and I play on classic mode... I used the biggest dps weapon I had which was Ark of the Elements, and it was not enough to get me to the sentiniels... Many deaths later literally the first weapon I've found that was somewhat decent was Banshee Hook. This boss is too strong for weapons obtainable before the fight, but gets OBLITERATED with any weapon craftable after it

@@WojtekXD-bx7jb The health isn't even much of a jump from Storm Weaver. Sounds like you were not using the right weapon. AotE is a pre-Providence weapon, of course it sucks against DoG. Posr-Polterghast weapons are your best bet. Also, you do know to hit the head and tail, right?

For being one of the last bosses you fight, he seems really easy compared to what he was. I hope they make him harder, or at least more overwhelming; I think a boss this far into the game deserves that complexity, even if it means each attack doesnt do as much damage.

I'm newer to Calamity and finished my first playthrough recently, I beat him second try in a master world. I don't know how he used to be, but to me at least he was way easier than DoG. If anything I blame the gear tier, you get a good power spike after DoG.

@@csai3365 The thing is, my playthrough before the update that overhauled him I was running the best armor you could scavenge at the time, the best ranger build, and even using a extra slot mod. Easily took over 20 tries because his unpredictability made him difficult. From the video alone it looks like they butchered him lol.
