Yi-Kwei Sze was a fine singer and one of our great artists. Here he displays some of his most sensitive singing of one of the great lieder cycles. I heard him live on several occasions and remember what a powerful and commanding presence he was on the stage. Bless his memory.

I have always marveled at Asian singers such as Yi-Kwei Sze, who sing Western vocal music so superbly, despite the enormous differences between Asian and Western speech and vocal production.
