Question for experienced riders... On a scale of 1-10 how good is the cornering pose of the R1 rider? It seems really good, yet not typical to me, but I don't understand why our beloved superbike racer didn't then have the slightest trouble chasing him and could overtake anytime

Bad body positioning from the r1 rider. Should’ve put his head lower and closer to the mirrors which takes away lean angle on the bike. The more the bike is upright the faster he can get on the gas and exit the corner faster. Just my two cents.
