The background in the intro, it is from another NES game called Kungfu but I knew that game as Spartan X. I even found that game instead when I was searching for this game (Yie ar Kungfu) since both games has the name Kungfu.

Really? I thought she's Rose from Street Fighter since Chunli appears as well which is also from Street Fighter. The intro music when the female opponent in Yie Ar Kungfu (Lang) challenges Lee is using Chunli's theme. Rose always seens carrying fan and Sakura (Street Fighter) seems to know her.

To be fair, I only played Yie Ar Kung-Fu 2, and even then, it was by sheer luck. We were visiting relatives in Ireland, and we were staying in a summer-trailer community, and one of the kids had an MSX, with Yie Ar Kung-Fu 2. I never played the first one. Then again, it's hard to forget a game where one of your opponents fights entirely by farting at you. :P
