As for NVDY, I'll explain as best I can why they rolled the synthetic up like this. I'm actually surprised they didn't roll the entire position. It was only a $0.99 debit so that locked in some profit from the 111C. Now they're going to be using the profit from the 124C to pay for the rest of the debit later to close the other 111's most likely. I liked this move. Probably would have been better to roll the entire position rather than just 20k.

further to this, being capped with the 111 strike, they opened up their position to allow for more up side on the new 116 synthetic. 124 is a solid resistance line too.

The NVDY fund manager needs to be fired. Pushing contracts out to the 30th and the $124 strike was selected. How ridiculous. NVDA is likely going over the all time high with earnings, in my opinion.

Correct, the NVDY lose the synthetic income form strike price 112.69 to 123😑 10%loss. They should BC the 20240816 C111 and short next week Call. I should buy a call C111 the hedge their loss🙃

They picked the 30th on the new call options because earnings are announced on the 28th. Since it's difficult to know how the market will react, this looks like a hedge for the upside although may not be high enough if NVDA blows up

Makes me wonder what the value would be to hedge the synthetic with an OTM put at about 10-12% below the entry strike price. Yes, it would add to the initial cost of the synthetic. But if things tank (cough TSLA) you've at least capped your downside. Obviously your leverage is eroded, but I wonder how the divs would be impacted. Guess we'd have to ask the Frickin' Manager.

Everything will depend on guidance..if they beat and raise it's hard to imagine the stock going down but the pros are getting nervous that the AI party is nearing an end so they could also sell into the good news

Have you ever checked the real holdings on the Option chain? They don't show the "actual holdings" like Mstr Aug 16 should show at least 29,750 Call contracts as Open interest at the $141 strike price. However it only shows 1394 Call contracts as Open interest and the volume is only 927 contract. Just curious, where are all those contracts?

NVDY manager , ARE YOU KiDDING ME?? 124 strike for 8/30. Unbelievable. Did you forget when NVDA earnings are? Are you betting against NVIDIA , it takes a brave (or an I***d) to make that call. We are going to lose BIG on this week’s calls and the 8/30 call and you are capping NVDY price. What are you smoking? Only silver lining is Syn bailout.

NVDY is in deep ch5t...NVDA is building into another earnings blowout quarter and YM is going to lose their @zz for this month on weekly calls in my opinion...I'm selling covered calls on my NVDA shares and its like walking on egg shells right now...The shares are spiking and its a difficult task to figure no doubt...Will see but it looks like the YM NVDY mgrs aren't winning...
