(I know there are more but these ones come to mind most prominently). All that shit is tame compared to what i wanna see exposed and talked about. I agree with most of what you said, however, Treyarch is not known for making big maps. The big maps in Cold War were made by Sledgehammer games... also, SCUD is a pretty sizeable map for a Treyarch map. Infinity Ward has always had larger/more vertical map design. Think about the largest maps in black ops 2... carrier, cargo, they're about the same size as SCUD (which is also the worst map in the game IMO and according to a lot of others) Some people prefer Treyarch map design, and some people prefer IW map design. Me personally, I prefer not having to worry about being shot from 100 different angles.

The last five years I’ve been trying to explain to people why small three lane maps are awful, and why trying to make every map like shipment or nuketown is a terrible idea, yet everyone magically forgot the period of BO3/IW/WWII/BO4 where these types of maps were overrepresented and people hated it, because “MW 2019”. I tried warning people. Many begged for these types of maps; some even claimed they want it to be mindless. This is the result. Why can’t we just go back to the map designs of COD4, WaW and MW2? Why is that such a problem for both the developers and the community? Infinity Ward at least tried, for which they received scorn from the community, and the mere mention that there’s progress there, even if flawed, was treated as heresy. They’ve made their bed, now they can lay in it. No lessons will be learned, no progress will be made, and each time a map that is more unique and a step in the right direction comes out, then these types of players will camp in corners because they can’t fathom learning map layouts or moving if the map isn’t forcing them down one of three cardinal directions and isn’t the size of a kiddy pool.

Guarantee you that the reason why the maps are designed the way they are is because that’s the best they can come up with while taking note of what players gravitate towards, in this case small shipment like death match maps, and what upper management wants with wanting the game to be designed around SBMM, and grinding to get shit for Warzone so you can stand a chance in it, or attempt to grind till your hit with hurdles that get you fed up enough to drop money on a bundle that has some of what you want, or pay to skip the battle passes and get into black cell.

I played it for a few hours today and liked it. I like the movement being slower feeling and more versatile, and I like the faster ttk. The maps are meh. The class customization is meh. I like medium to big maps. I like mw3 better in those aspects. The spawns are absolutely ass though. I definitely noticed that. Im not sold on it. Ill probably stick with mw3. gosh, I hate, Hate, HATE BO6 Beta. Got to try it today, it is bad in every way possible on PC. Movement is terrible, it is slow, and the guns feel... weak. The sound design is atrocious, and the visual? You get a TRIANGLE that slowly turns a blue outline for capping? What where they thinking? Icing on the cake: "operators" that seem to come from Zahadoom --- the whole thing is for teenagers, only. Forget it. Not for me.

These big studios / publishers don't care if devs didn't finish the project, we gotta push as much as possible when we are still relevant. And on top of that they'd say they know what is better for you and blame gamers if their game doesn't deliver because you did this or didn't do that. As long as there are big corporate structures above a game studio, there is no room for discussions imo. You may boycott something one time, but long run it doesn't matter. Vote with your wallet. That's the strongest argument we as gaming comunity have, and that's also something that can make these companies realize that they can't just ignore everything. Stay safe people.

Idk why it’s so difficult for people to have different opinions. Mechanics are a good idea but poorly executed and lacking for clean/smooth feeling for something as simple as moving an object. 4 years means something and people that don’t see that, are wearing blinders. Period. SBMM is insanely thick I personally never noticed it before MW3 and I boycott since they don’t listen but I can’t play this game without getting crammed like a canned tuna. My experience day one was clunky but FUN. Because it was just gamers gaming and I didn’t care how it felt at that point. Ff two days and I can’t EXSIST IN THE GAME LIKE GET ME OUT OF HERE FFS ITS A NIGHTMARE HOW CAN THEY THINK THIS IS GOOD

How many of those four years were spent in preproduction, though, and what did that process entail? Bear in mind, Cold War released in November 2020, and post-launch support ended in 2021. Not only that but the game was developed on the T9 engine, which was only abandoned after Cold War. Meaning Treyarch's devs would have needed to spend a significant amount of time learning Infinity Ward's new IW engine. If the unfinished state of BO6 is anything to go by, this would imply most of the last 3-4 years were spent familiarizing themselves with infinity Ward's dev tools, porting over older assets to IW, then creating new assets for their next game. So, in reality, they may have only been given a timeframe of 1 and 1/2 to 2 years of full-production development. Not 4, like some of these people are parroting. Combined with the recent round of layoffs imposed by Microsoft on Activision's many branches, it's easy to understand Black Ops 6's current state.

I just played BO6 for the first time.. here’s my insight: - Spawns are all over the place. - I honestly think the art style is okay. - The things added are fine but gimmicky. - The game is waaay too fast.. tac sprint shouldn’t have been added. - The IW engine is shit and made the game feel like another MW game. - Sounds are ear piercingly bad because the volume is too loud and I don’t need to hear that sound queue to know that I killed an enemy I just shot and saw his body drop and saw my name in the kill feed. - The UI is still bad.. it’s better than previous years but it feels like it was a last minute thought.. like it’s half way there. - They play too much on nostalgia which is cringe because the game has nothing to do with past CoDs. - SBMM is cranked up to the max.. even more than previous games. - The guns feel too bouncy and inaccurate. - Lastly.. it looks like BO2 if BO2 was bad which it isn’t.. but plays like another MW2019 and its update called MWII and the update of MWII called MWIII. It’s honestly a 4.5/10 in terms of quality and fun. And 6/10 in terms of creativity. And 3/10 in terms of originality. And 0/10 in terms of SBMM and Bundle store greed. Overall: 4/10

I am so sad about the way this game feels. I'm not sure if this is a common talking point, but I want to go into it - I hope my thoughts resonate with someone else's. MW3 2023 is the best movement COD - the transition to each new character state flows really well. Sliding was controllable; You could cancel it early and even steer using the sticks or using A and D on a keyboard. climbing was fast, diving was very fast. Weapon swapping and transitions were really nice - you could aim down sights whilst swapping to the weapon or knife. So many great weapons and conversion kits released, truly allowing anyone, with time and effort, to find a playstyle they love. This beta has stripped all of these great qualities away, and replaced it with a gimmicky "You can sprint, slide and dive in any direction." There is almost no practical use for diving around. I can imagine there is probably an interesting use-case for sliding backwards - you can use it to disengage from a fight quite quickly. However, on PC, you simply need to look the other way and run off, so we PC players don't even need to use the slide backwards feature the majority of the time. The animations feel really linear - they lack bounciness and subtle camera shaking that invited you into the movement itself without being too shaky. Black ops 6 is an unnecessary camera shake mashup - you'd get mess camera shake in a tornado. This is a watered down MW3 with gulf war coating
