Thank you so much for this yin yoga class for the liver and gall bladder meridian. I thoroughly enjoyed my hour with you. From the beginning I felt deep spinal releases in twisted roots. I appreciated the breaks between poses to allow time for the postures to integrate.I love your style of teaching. The quieter energy brought me deep stillness and ease. I loved the backbend as a counterpose in the seated wide-legged forward fold. That is such a good idea to counter all the rounding in the forward fold. Fire log felt so good for a deep release in the hip joints. Thanks for taking the time to explain the benefits of yin yoga. I am finally able to do the lotus pose again! I've noticed that in most of your (recent) videos, twisted roots if included is usually the final asana. Here though we almost start with it. I think this order actually helped me to sink deeper into shoelace pose than normally, but twisted roots is also dangerously comfortable, the biggest challenge can be to voluntarily get out of it again :-)

So true! I find supine twists so inviting and this is why I often end practices with the sweetness of a twist. But, I have been playing with lots of variations lately in classes so stay tuned!

Question: I can easily do log legs and shoelace, but can’t even sit up straight with legs straight out. Is there a variation for that?

You can prop your hips up on blankets or a block. Often this means tightness in the back body (hamstrings, calves, lower back) and placing a folding blanket or two under your hips and sliding to the edge of the stack allows your pelvis to tilt naturally and helps with finding that length in the spine.
