I have been doing yoga for a year and a half.it saved my life.i have continued to struggle with lower back pain and hip pain.i work honecare so I am Always bending and pulling.i found you on u tube and have been doing this practice everyday for over a week and omg my pains are gone.thank u

This was another great practice for my hips.after the dragon pose we grab the foot and held briefly,the leg we held both sides for me my hip was so tender in this position,what was that that was so tender??

Hi Tonia -thanks so so much! When we twist the dragon and reach back for the leg you are doing a number of things. First ---Dragons or Lizards involve a deep stretch of the hip flexors, including the psoas, which can become tight from prolonged periods of sitting and from lots of exercise, walking, running etc. Stretching the hip flexors, the groin and all the surrounding tissues can be uncomfortable, especially if they are particularly tight. It creates a sensation of compression in the back hip. When you reach back for the foot, there is some internal rotation in the back leg and a more intensified opening in the glutes and psoas. We also have lots of emotions stored in the hips. I hope this helps. See you on the mat my friend! Namaste Rebekah
