@@Runefrag This is why they will remain backward, they insist on doing it this way for years and years, just like they use angle grinders with no glasses and attempt to weld with neither foot, hand nor eye protection. A pair of safety glasses or cheap sunnies would probably cost $2 in their country or less, less than a day's pay for even the poor of Africa. These guys probably fall all the time and break their legs or ankles in the conveyor or their foot gets stuck in the rollers and its amputation and a lifetime as an invalid. To protect the conveyor belt. It wouldn't move if the whole weight of the load was on it.
@darylovaltine2 ай бұрын
Why have the boards there at all? Why not just load onto the conveyer belt and then into the hold then fire up the conveyer to offload? The same amount of weight and coal is being placed on the conveyer and falling below the belt into the space below it (requiring cleaning) once the timber panels are removed. You would likely need a bigger motor because the belt is loaded along its full length but that’s about it.

The boards cover the conveyer belt then the coal or whatever the load is put on. When the conveyer is on, the boards are removed so the load falls onto the conveyer to be taken away.
