I don’t found it’s smelly at all. 🤣 It depends on how your nose smells it. I do recommend to put little chill oil when you try it.

I would say snail noodles are a bit like marmite, you either love it or hate it. It has a very strong smell which lingers on for ages. If you want to get it a try, You can get instant snail noodles from some Chinese shop. One piece of advice , open all your windows,while cooking and consuming. Enjoy ！ ：）

If you don’t put the smelly bamboo shoot in it, I think you should be fine. I live in Europe and many of my friends here love the bamboo shoot -free version snail soup I made for them.

These snails called "luosi" in Chinese, that's why this noodle called "luosifen", It means spicy snail noodle.

我們台灣人叫那個竹子旁邊生出尖狀物的東西叫"筍子"( 注音: ㄙㄨㄣˇ ㄗ˙)，或"竹筍"(注音: ㄓㄨˊ ㄙㄨㄣˇ)。有人留言它可能分季節而各有名稱，這部分我就沒研究了哈哈。 竹筍，只要切掉或撥開外面硬殼的部分，留下內部白色的部分，可以稱它叫"筍肉"或簡稱"筍子"就可以了，反正都是同一個東西只是內外之分而已。可以咬食，是脆脆的口感，指內部可以吃的白色部分喔。 筍子料理方式，可以像李子柒這樣切成薄片，再加辣椒、蒜苗，炒著吃。 也可以整顆(切除外殼)清蒸後，冰鎮處理(再冷藏，拿出來吃也可以)，切成滾刀塊狀，擺盤後，擠上美乃滋，就是美味可口的《涼筍》了。台灣有快炒店，幾乎都會賣這道菜的。

不同品种的竹子长出来的笋不一样，有春笋，冬笋，麻笋.....有的长出土就老了就不能吃了，有的可以长很高很大，普遍都是采回家很快就要处理掉要不然就会老了，真和竹子一样口感了。

Those are sea snail! Let’s not miss understood with the Burgundy snails which you find in the garden which most people’s don’t normally eat. Gordon Ramsay did made a video him and his daughter picking snails in his garden and cooked them up. There are so many kind off type of sea snail you can eat, most East Asia country eat them. British do eat snails to, you see people eat boiled cockles and whelks, eaten with a cocktail stick on the beaches at Blackpool and Cornwall beaches in England.

Bamboo shoots are a stable in Chinese kitchen, you can put the slice ones in stew. The really big snails (egg or bigger size) taste like abalone.

I was told that snail rice noodle is smelly because of the fermented bamboo shoots; it is kind of like durian, you either like it or hate it. I would like to try her bamboo shoots dishes though, my mom said the fresh bamboo shoots is usually much sweeter and tastier than dried one.
