Maybe you helped some strangers again only to mess with the wrong person and ended up with your memories gone" Surely I'm reading into this too much, but I suspect it may be some foreshadowing on Rover's story. Hypothetically speaking, he could've been a black lamb and lost his life as a martyr after being betrayed, just to be revived without memories by a goddess and imbued with special powers. The "mascot" echo/creature he has hidden away could be her avatar.

Im kinda unsure if this is all how it went down, I read it a little different tho admittedly I found the quest a bit confusing. The biggest thing against this read of the story is that, well, simply since she was so high up in the chain of the Society, she could have easily gotten the information to shut it down a long time ago, she knows who Dollmaster is and what he is doing and where to find him, so I feel like her saying she was trying to find necessary proof is just a lie, especially considering that Dollmaker did consider her to be a mole and the patrolers also note that they have a mole in their midst, so she must have been helping in some way. Sure, this may be her playing the role of a double agent, but then her patroler comrades should know that. The thing thats against this is that she is said to have been away for a while, and she clearly wouldnt have agreed to be part of the Society now with how they are working with Fracsidus. Issue is that both cant be true, so I kinda think the middle route is true, she was still relatively loyal to the dollmaker but was now looking for ways to stop him and to make sure the other people got off lightly, they are guilty but not bad guys and while I do think she may have been the one to try and get us involved, I think that was mainly at dollmaker/Fracsidus orders if that is the case (who knows) and she did plan to play us and betray us from the begining, only to actually change her mind and use this opportunity to go after dollmaker instead once she saw who we are and that we care for the dolls and for the people who lost their families etc., that we put their well being ahead of getting the bad guys etc., otherwise those lines dont really serve much purpose. Thats why she let us read the documents, to see and gauge our reaction and once we help with the TD's and are on board with her plan to use us as hostage, despite her lying to us before, she knows this is the right side and right thing to do and thats how she stays true to her parents legacy and whatnot, but it was a close call, because her being a double agent for so long almost had her self fooled as well. I may be wrong, but I dont think there is enough suggesting that she actually planned to get our help and go after the dollmaker from the begining, there would have been better ways to do that otherwise. I also read what dialogue with her I have unlocked, which isnt all of it yet but it doesnt really confirm one way or the other sadly. My main point being that if she actually wanted to take down Society as was now her job seemingly, she could have done that at any time, instead she was seemingly still covering for them to a degree, which is why she so readily admits that they may not allow her back now, because she knows she betrayed them (not because of the records thing, thats BS, people would obviously still know her lol) She even admits that she should have done something sooner and doesnt know why she didnt. And pretty much makes clear the she only changed her mind because of us. What do you think? And also, yea she wants us, for sure, its not just your imagination :D Tho sadly at least at the begining thats also her just playing a role for sure :( Overall its a fine quest I suppose, whichever way it was intended, but I do have issue with how hard it is to actually know the intended interpretation, a consisent issue with many gacha games where they think leaving things open to interpretation makes the seem deeper for some reason o.O or just localization issues, either or. At the end of the day I do think the quest falls pretty short of what it could have been had it not been so unsure of what it wants to be. I would either make it clear that Yinlin had changed her mind during the quest and that she was deeply conflicted before due to Dollmaker now working with Fracsidus and thats why she changed her mind, gave us the tablet and counted on us. Or have this be more about how she ha grown dissilusioned with the Society and Dollmaker as she worked as his mole in the Patrolers, following in her parents footsteps, in which case she could have manipulated the situation to get us involved and play the role of a double agent to get us inside and get our help, in which case tho we would need a plausible reason as to why she couldnt just get all that on her own seeing as she is pretty much second in command of the Society. As it is, it kinda feels like a unsucessful mix of both that leave her character just confusing. I dont know if she actually betrayed us and only changed her mind last minute, being fine working with Dollamaker even when Fracsidus got involved because she got lost in the dream of having her parents back, with us reminding her how that goes against their wishes and all that, or if this was some sort of master plan of double agency, either way, its missing the massive internal struggle she must have gone through to either turn on the dollamaker last minute, or plan to do so well in advance. Its written confusingly and doesnt satisfy either of the takes completely imo.

3:12 Didn't the Court of Savanté tried doing that? But instead what they made was the mecha abomination. Not sure though. I think that Cosmic God is similar to what they call an Observer in PGR. Someone who watch civilizations grow and pick those who transcends beyond to join them and break a set of rules even the observers are bound to. Also, from the words of the doll maker, I feel like the rover is like the primary repository of all memories (reverberations, etc.) that's why we could reverberate even with the calamity-class TDs. That's also probably why the doll maker said that he could probably recreate Yinlin's parents with the rover. Maybe that's because he has all the records (memories from reverberations, echoes, whatever) in his ass. It's a stretch. But yeah, Yinlin's quest is great. It's rare for a character to be hostile towards the MC. She actually fooled me at first lol. Great vid btw.

You might actually be right, lowkey convinced me to look into the pgr story. There is also a lot of lore I haven’t reed either so it may be hints in the game to your idea already. And i kind thought it was actually the little ancient tacit animal inside of us absorbing the powers and because we have a dimensional rift in us we can resonate with it. But that’s just me chatting. The rover did resonate with tds on the battle field and was able to see through them what was happening in the main quest so i definitely gotta look more into that

It would fit her character very well, but I wonder if she’d let us know or we’d have to theorize for ourselves. Now that I think about it more I like that aspect too. Cause every female character that looks like her might actually be her😭
