Hear veterans from the Army's 1st Battalion, 7th Cavalry talk about what the Vietnam Battle of Ia Drang Valley was like. We enjoyed hosting a special symposium on the Battle of Ia Drang Valley on April 17, 2015. The event was part of our ongoing commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War.
This video is part of the YKTV Series produced on the USS YORKTOWN at the Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum. Please follow us on Facebook and Twitter and check out our website: www.patriotspoint.org/

My good friend was 7th calv. His M60 jammed while in fire fight. His A gunner leaned over him and took a bullet while my buddy the gunner unjammed his machinegun. Then proceeded to do his job. The A gunner survived and my buddy looked for him ever since. He found his A gunner 2 yrs ago..died before he got a chance to see him. The A gunner had a identical twin. He went to see the family last yr. 50 yrs later. They had a grand time but he was sad not to see his friend that took a bullit for him... true warriors ..... he told me this story to tell everyone his A gunner was a Black soldier. All of us that been there know we r one we bleed red and we’re green ...no color SEMPER FI

My friend from Big Spring, Texas and former member of the 4th AD 51st Inf. Ferris Barracks, Erlangen Germany, SGT Agustin Paredez lost his life there. He left a Son in Erlangen Mike Wirth Paredez. This was the first big battle fought in Vietnam but, more battles were to follow. A street is named after him in Big Springs, Texas.

Without a commander like Hal Moore, it would've been a catastrophe. Without so many others too--Basil Plumley, Bruce Crandall, "Too Tall" Jones. Impossible to appreciate fully what it was like. Airborne has never failed us. They held the line at Bastogne, La Drang and a thousand other impossible hellholes. A hundred thousand thank yous doesn't begin to cover it.

Commenting later on the battle, Harold (Hal) G. Moore said, The "peasant soldiers [of North Vietnam] had withstood the terrible high-tech fire storm delivered against them by a superpower and had at least fought the Americans to a draw. By their yardstick, a draw against such a powerful opponent was the equivalent of a victory."

So nobody has the wisdom to question the legitimacy of Americans being in Vietnam fighting in the first place? Vietnam never attacked US territory or Americans. It was an Asian civil war, in Asia....to be resolved by Asians. It was NOT America's fight. The US never officially declared war against Vietnam. America was an aggressor and invader in that conflict. The only good story about Vietnam is the veterans that admit the US should have never been there. If that truth isn't a part of their "story" then it's all BS. They're conning the younger generation.

The ABCs of Salvation, or how to be right with God, and know you're going to Heaven: A-dmit that you're a sinner, and need a Savior. As it is written: There is none righteous, no, not one. Romans 3:10 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23 B-elieve that Jesus Christ died paying the penalty for your sins, and rose from the grave. He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross. 1 Peter 2:24 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures... 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 C-all on the Lord Jesus Christ to save you, and trust only in Him for your salvation. If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9 For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:13 The moment you "believe," or, put your trust in what Jesus has done for you, God saves you and your eternal destiny in Heaven is assured. You go from spiritual death to eternal life the moment you believe. Jesus said it this way: Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. John 5:24😀
