It’s strange to me how we preach “we are the church, the church is not a building,” but when we speak of church hurt we try to separate things. If a representative of the church legitimately hurt someone, that person has been hurt by the church. God is coming for a church.
@jeromejohnson54126 ай бұрын
Okay we'll see it from this perspective. The church is the "body of Christ". The scriptures also say "Let this same mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus". So if we (the church) move like "Jesus" then you won't hurt anyone but help, those who claim to be in the church and hurt others are not of Christ but the devil, the scriptures say they never even knew God to begin with.
@nianijones46116 ай бұрын
@@jeromejohnson5412 in a perfect world lol! Let’s talk about reality. There is no such thing moving through life and never offending or hurting someone else. People of faith are not perfect and “fall short of the glory of God…” if it were not so, your prominent biblical characters that were noted as men and women who loved God, we’re perfect in the sight of God, and/or were “after God’s own heart” never existed and the Bible is a lie!
@jeromejohnson54126 ай бұрын
@@nianijones4611 The scriptures tell us to be perfect even as our father in heaven is perfect. Hurting someone because of malicious intent is a totally different scenario. Anyone who does such has stepped out of the will of God and is not representing Christ at THAT TIME. Regardless of your title or position in the church. For he that sins, is of THE DEVIL. Remember when Miriam (Moses' sister) spoke out against him, the Lord smote her with leprosy for I believe 7 days. And she was shut out from the camp. God even killed some of his own people for sinning. Sin disconnects you from God and you no longer represent him at that time.
@nianijones46116 ай бұрын
@@jeromejohnson5412 with all due respect, you are not only responding to my statement out of context, you also sound like you are regurgitating information you heard and not diligently studied. It is very important to stay in context….but I’ll entertain. I never said in the moment the offender was operating in the spirit of God when they commit the act of offense, I said people that are truly representatives of the church are capable of offending. God does not turn off and on like we do and we are most certainly not perfect as He is…again context when it comes to the word is important. Many characters died in the Bible because they lied or sinned. There are also PLENTY that sinned, lived, and continued to be used by God. Name a book in the Bible that is named after a prophet, they sinned. Paul, Peter and the other apostles sinned WHILE ministering, operating in the 5 fold ministry, and representing the church. Good luck if you think otherwise! That would suggest saved people no longer need Jesus and that is a spirit of self righteousness, which according to the Bible God hates, and the spirit of Jezebel pastor Mark just mentioned and preached so eloquently about at AIM.
@jeromejohnson54126 ай бұрын
@@nianijones4611 The apostle Paul himself said shall we continue in sin so that grace may abound....GOD FORBID. You have to come to a complete stop from your sinful ways, is God merciful YES, will he forgive you for sinning? YES, but Jesus himself even told the man he healed, Go and sin no more! You have to be perfect, and you can do it through the power of Christ whom will strengthen you. Perfect just means to obey ALL the commandments of God. Obey him in all things. Even if you fall, repent l, get it right AND DONT DO IT ANYMORE! Be perfect! And you are correct, Peter the APOSTLE did sin but how did Jesus address him? He said "get thee behind me SATAN". because Peter in that moment was a representative of the devil and not of God even though he was an apostle and disciple of Jesus. That's as far as I'll go. God bless you. And I pray God opens your understanding. Thank you for your time.

This episode is particularly important in my opinion as you all brought up the importance of “the holiness of fellowship”. Please consider doing an episode to expound on just that!😮💨The ole’ saints knew each other on a deeper level back in the day OUTSIDE of the church. They called you, checked on you, made sure you are good and had your best interest at heart. Now a days, folks get to service, jump and shout and head right out the door when service is ova! REAL fellowship is having folks best interest at heart… 🗣️SAINTS!!! Check on y’all’s memba’s please!! Let them know you care!! 🙏🏾

I traveled to different churches as an Army wife and one pastor expressed how his family felt when they become friends with the members and the Pastor becomes used to that family and they leave. It became so painful that they built a wall up and stopped letting people get too close to protect their feelings. I had never thought of it that way, especially in a very small church.

31:11 this is one reason why I left the church. Double death in the family and no one reached out. No support system. It was so hard. I left the chat and never looked back. But if I had been there for years it would have been a fellowship. I needed someone but since they didn't know me I got nothing.
@Tharealgwynthe6 ай бұрын
@sunnydays6237 I left that church. When I say no one knew me I mean they knew of me but it was hard to hold a convo with anyone else in the church other than the single mothers since I was one. It's felt like since I was the new kid on the block we had nothing to talk about. Also I did bring it to the Pastor about the double death. No one called, reached out, offered services anything. Maybe I was expecting too much. But from the church I pay tithes and attend faithfully I expect something rather than nothing.
