He fell for Vegard right away- at the beginning, he was shaking hands with Bard but was looking at Vegard.

I moved to Oslo last august and as soon as I came there I had an afternoon to kill between job interviews so I went to look for this barbershop just for fun! I found it, Big Boy looks great nowadays too! :D

This is one of my all-time favorite episodes. I'm calling it "Fifty Shades of Ylvis." Hilarious! I love Vegard in the sling. So much fun.

Big Boy loves Vegard in the sling, too. Mouwahahaha.

How about "Fifty Shades of Gøy"?

Kim Chi That just means "Fifty Shades of Fun."

I know :) But it's also a sort-of pun on the word "gay".

I have watched 'Big Boy' more than once, but it's very interesting to see a different English translation! Thanks, Facebookies!

Agreed, and yet I'm not satisfied. For instance, at 6:25 Bård says "Hvis jeg hadde hatt en tendens til ereksjon, så hadde den iallefall forsvunnet nå" is translated to "If I already had a hint of an erection it's completely gone now". In my head that makes it a tiny chance Bård actually had an erection, or a hint of an erection. Which is not the case. He says: "If I'd had a tendency of an erection, it'd be completely gone by now". So, am I being picky, or did it actually make a difference???
@joeblow57811 жыл бұрын
Mona Lisa It does make a difference, yes. And I noticed that bit, being quite familiar with the earlier translation (and interested in Bård's erectile state, heh). But since I don't know Norwegian (except what Google translate can tell me), I can only find it interesting to compare the two - but ja, the devil is in the details, in translation! I used to read classics in languages I could not read, and comparing a bunch of different English translations was always interesting. Post your own translations, won't you Mona? The more the better, for sure!

Joe Blow lols True, but that's not my field. I think I'll stick to hotmixes and stuff like that;) BUT, I'll make you a deal. If you'd like a second opinion of a translation, copy and paste it to my discussion tab on my channel, and I'd get right back at ya;)
@joeblow57811 жыл бұрын
Mona Lisa Will do, and also if you have a comment about a translation, please post it (like you did here). Translation is not black and white, as I know - it's more an art than a science! :)

Watching this video again I just realized we were passing by the place during my recent stay in Oslo. That time I noticed the rainbow flag and since the building opposes one unusual cafe I was able to find it on google maps right now! Damn I feel like a spy :)

People who speak both Norwegian and English (for me) will have to do that, but meanwhile I am not wanting to criticize any translations. I am interested in all of them, and the fact that they are a bit different is just extra fun. Please keep on translating, and I love your translations!! Tusen takk, srsly!

Does anyone notice the way Bård looks at Vegard at 2:36 when he says "I can't hold back anymore, can we go downstairs?" and then Vegard lowers his eyes? Looks a bit...flirtatious to me. o.O (Sorry folks, been reading too much fanfic...)
