The thing about that meme which always slightly bothered me is you can still parry a gun it it’s called a half parry where you parry a bit too early and have a 70% physical resistance. Sure you’d lose like 40% of your health and get a dent in your armor but in actuality given the mechanics of dark souls it wouldn’t affect you much logically

Guns can do good damage, even without going ball the way to 99 blood tinge, but you still need to go to 50 for a good blood tinge build. Evelyn, Chikage, and Bow Blade are great. (It kind of breaks some bosses to be able to do good damage from range. Like Lawrence just expects you to be fighting him up close, especially when he is just a torso and moves slowly). It does take a good chunk of the game playing normally to get to Cainhurst (or the Bow Blade, which is basically at the end of the DLC) to get the good blood tinge weapons.

The main chalice dungeon's completion can get you okay blood gems, okay blood stones, and pretty decent blood echoes. But the chalice dungeons ymfah used and are detailed above is like going to a late-game grinding spot, right after you leave your starting town in an RPG. You get more blood echoes than Mergo's wet nurse, the last mandatory boss in the game, by just walking into the chalice dungeon.

I just finished my own gun only run inspired heavily by this. I found the Evelyn to be a far more economically viable weapon after defeating Vicar Amelia. Without question Ludwig was the hardest challenge. I could get through everything with just upgrading bloodtinge. He was the boss that I had to boost my health. Even then I barely beat him with the resources I had. The run required a hell of a lot of farming and resource management was more critical than usual. But it really wasn’t that tedious. It may be a while before I try a run like that again, but it was a ton of a fun for me nonetheless. Excellent video and thanks for the inspiration.

for anyone curious about the "over 3000 times the echo" stated at 26:50, it's around ~3085.3x 22,000 (regular boss amount) x 55.5457 (just over the 55x multiplier stated at 26:19, exact amount found through trial and error by multiplying 22,000 with numbers between 55 and 56) = 1,222,005, the amount gained from one visceral boss finish with all heir runes. 55.5457² = *3085.32478849* 22,000 x 3085.32478849 = 67,877,145 which is the closest I could get to the 67,877,152 final echo count shown in the video. Not sure where the extra 7 echoes come from but my incredibly sleep deprived 3.30am brain could have very easily got something slightly off
