Toms vlog tiktok was a parody referencing another Tiktoker they were talking about on their pod last week. I said it was a parody but I should've made it more clear he was referencing someone specifically. Either way though he nailed that tiktok and I don't want to take away from that.

If we were to compare YMH studios to what H3 productions is doing. You can see the audience start to love the side-characters. The H3 crew. And as time went on H3 started to incorporate all these people into little side bits they do everyweek. Tom and YMH didn't realize this with their own crew and instead of letting them grow into more roles they kept them on the sidelines until they left.

These “studios” and “networks” were never meant to last.. I can see even just “professional” studio podcasts in general being the butt of every joke soon, with how similar many have gotten to late night TV talk shows (which, you know, comedians podcasts were supposed to be the superior “new medium” knocking the “traditional media” out of the way and ok I’m using too many quotation marks)

They also pay to artificially inflate their numbers till they build a natural audience however alot of them never gain that following because they just arent that entertaing plus wayy too many commercials. 30 min of commercials for a 2 hr podcast is rediculous

Everyone thought it would be different now because podcasts were so revolutionary. It brought easy instant media access directly to everyone in their industry. But its clear now that podcasts are falling into the same trap as traditional media. I expect the podcast boom to lose steam in the next couple years. It will still be around and popular. But there will be a counter movement in which other forms of media will rise in popularity again. I love podcasts, but the dream that corporate executive and shareholder mentality would be eliminated forever is not going to happen. Podcasters will have less benefit of the doubt going forward.

Tom and Christina pretending they had a rough upbringing and lived in extreme poverty for the love of comedy is the biggest joke they have ever told. Tom's dad was a higher up with Merrill Lynch and most likely bank rolled the family. You can tell from how insufferably entitled Charro is. And Christina grew up affluent and hovered around all kinds of celebritys kids, eventually making her way onto tv herself. Bert is no different, he's just more successful and 10x as annoying.

i'm glad you noticed this as well, it was driving me crazy that they kept pushing this false "we grew up poor" narrative that nobody seemed to catch onto... the biggest giveaway for me was when they talked about shopping at the dirt cheap/low tier grocery store called... Trader Joe's... lolol like not only is it actually crazy expensive (in relation to places like aldi/walmart, anyway) but the stores are almost exclusively located in wealthy/affluent areas. also how they'd talk about hiring a cleaning lady once every couple weeks to clean their APARTMENT! people who are actually in poverty wouldn't dream of spending money to have someone clean up after them, let alone be lazy/entitled enough to feel like they shouldn't have to clean up after themselves to begin with...

Yeah, there was no reason given other than Nadav wanted to try to help some smaller productions and to see him doing his own thing is very interesting. Nadva came onto YMH as the very first producer and he really grew the technical capability of the show. All of the production value you see today evolved from Nadav's work. I agree he was integral, but he has been doing this FOREVER and going out on his own to apply his skills on his own show makes perfect sense. The issue with the costs of a podcast studio are so real. Weak shows need them, but a strong show evolves beyond them quickly.

I agree, it’s not what it used to be but It would be weird if they didn’t evolve. I’ve loved watching the YMH journey from the beginning. @@paulbryant8403 He has like maybe 2-3 funny stand up bits, ever. lol He heavily relies on reacting to funny videos on his podcast, which is the lowest form of comedy. Literally anyone can commentate and laugh about absurd stuff on the internet. When I am comparing how good a comedian is I compare them to the current best. And Tom isn't even close to the level of a Burr, Theo or Chappelle. His latest comedy special was horrendous. He is simply a subpar-at-best comedian, who got the Rogan boost, along with the pandemic inflating views because everyone was home. But that Rogan boost only gets you so far, and the pandemic is over. He really isn't that witty or funny. Out of Rogans circle, Theo is the only one who is talented, witty and/or funny. I don't count Burr as being in Rogans circle. And the rest of them are the most successful undertalented comedians I have ever seen. lol It's legit mind blowing that they are as popular as they are.

Tbh, at first I like Nadav's background laughing however, he seemed to laugh harder and harder at things that were moderately funny. I felt like in the later episodes of his stead he was laughing so hard at things it took away from the joke because it felt ingenuine. I think Tom and Christina have changed and don't seem to be having as much fun on their podcasts together. I also think their schtick has just been played out too much at this point. And not to mention Tom's breakdowns, where he spouts off at people for being poor. These breakdowns didn't personally bother me or anything, it just showed Tom's true colors.

Well said, I also thought Nadav laughed sooo hard for no reason and it would throw me off. Tik tok killed the show in my opinion, they released so heavily on reacting to other videos and incorporate all these "characters" its just to make you feel left out if you don't watch all the time so you feel the need to go back and find out who they are talking about. Tom has always been pretentious he just wasn't in a position to show it before, now he's working out and has money and fame. Why wouldn't he throw that in your face lol thats who he is.

2:45 “Who the F vetted these questions?” is a question I frequently ask myself for a number of YMH shows. I swear, some of the questions they picked to give Dr Drew, from the probably thousands submitted, were so infuriatingly and insanely dumb and such a waste of time and talent, almost to an insulting degree. You could literally hear Drew’s voice change as he read the question. He’d start out strong, then midway through the question as he realized just how dumb it was, you could actually hear the disappointment, then he’d give some quick defeated answer before quickly moving on to asking for a video or anything else…
