歌詞は元々は「スージー・ウォン・アンド・シャンハイ・ドールズ」というタイトルで、歌われている部分よりもずっと長い歌詞だったが、ここから高橋がピックアップして使われたと、作詞を担当したクリス・モスデルはコメントしている。 あと歌詞の世界はリチャード・クワイン監督、ナンシー・クワン主演のハリウッド映画『スージー・ウォンの世界（The World of Suzie Wong）』（1960年）そのものである。

I am of the real generation. YMO was formed in 1969 with Haruomi Hosono's group "Happiendo" and has been the backing band for many works under the name Caramel Mama since 1973. The song "Yellow Magic Carnival" is one of their songs. From there the name Yellow Magic Orchestra was formed. The musical sense of "Happiendo" was so far ahead of its time that it was not accepted by the general public, but only by a small core group of people. One of its members was a musician named Eiichi Otaki. He released "A LONG VACATION" in his other musical career, and his breakthrough song in Japan in 1981 was "Kimi wa Tear-Yellow. This song is refreshing. The song is a true story about how Eiichi Otaki felt when he had to take care of and carry his sick sister. That sister passed away at an early age. Eiichi Otaki also passed away in 2013. This is a very good album. Haruomi Hosono formed Yellow Magic Orchestra in 1978 and was a member of drummer Yukihiro Takahashi's group, Sadistic Mika Band. Yukihiro Takahashi was in charge of costumes for YMO. Ryuichi Sakamoto was considered a genius at the time at the Tokyo University of the Arts, Department of Music, Biano Department. He joined the band because he was a friend of Yukihiro Takahashi's. The album was released in London in December 1979 and became a hit when it was re-imported, changing the Japanese music scene. The tempo of the song "Raiden" is The tempo of the song "Raiden" was inspired by the sound of horses running in the battle scene of Akira Kurosawa's "Seven Samurai. YMO related series. 彼等の1st.LP“Yellow Magic Orchestra”では3人それぞれが、ジャン・リュック・ゴダール(フランスの映画監督)の作品タイトルをモチーフに1曲ずつ持ち寄りました。これは高橋幸宏からの曲で“La Femme Chinoise”←日本公開時の邦題“中国女” ←原題“La Chinoise”というわけです(^^)。 ちなみに細野晴臣のは“Mad pierrot”(←日本公開時の邦題“気狂いピエロ” ←原題“Pierrot le fou”)、坂本龍一のは“Tong poo(東風)” でした。 追伸:若き日に親しんだ音楽についての、(このチャンネルなど)若き人たちからの先入観抜きの反応を、私はいつも心待ちにしてますよ(｡･･｡)。 For their first LP, "Yellow Magic Orchestra," each of the three musicians contributed a song based on the title of a film by Jean-Luc Godard (French film director). I just read that on google: “Tong Poo” was written by Sakamoto with the Beijing Symphony Orchestra in mind. At the time, he had bought a record with songs on Mao Zedong’s poems. The song title is taken from Jean-Luc Godard’s movie “Eastern Wind”. It was also the name of the Chinese restaurant the members used to go to. It make sense because "Tong poo" doesn't sound French, but Chinese. "Pierrot le fou" is a famous movie. Everyone from my dad generation in French part of Canada know this movie.

当時のテクノ少年はみんな、YMOが着ている『YMO』とプリントされたツアーシャツに憧れたものです。富士フイルムカセットテープのキャンペーンで、レプリカシャツのプレゼントがあったと記憶しています。 私はこのライブを、アリーナ席、前から10番目くらいで観ました。前座は、シーナ＆ザ・ロケッツでしたから、別日だったかもしれません。 ライブ終了後、出待ちしていたら、YMOの３人は、出待ちのファンを振り切って走り出し、待たせていたタクシーに乗り込んで、颯爽と逃げたことを思い出しました。

当時富士カセットはYMOをCMに起用してただけに懸賞品を色々出してましたねぇ、シャツもカセットブックも外れましたけど。シナロケ前座だったコンサート行ってました、TVカメラもチビッコバンドもなく落ち着いて観れた日だったと個人的に思っています

ジャン・リュック・ゴダールの映画のタイトルを知っても何も変わらなかったと思います。サントラのインスピレーションの準備のためだけに映画を見るなんて、とてもできない。
