Guitar, electric guitar, is a very difficult instrument to master. It is harder than mastering the violin or the piano. The real problem with it starts when the musician wants to play fast. Violinists and pianists have no problem playing fast because their instruments are made in a way that it is easy for them. Guitars are constructed in such a way that you need to master your picking hand technique to be able to play fast. And if you don't have access to the right information you will spend a lot of time frustrated.

It's definitely good advice and a different way of looking at the problem that will be helpful to players. This was an informative video.

that is the way to clean up fast stuff. excellent suggestion. also work on synchronization, aka triplets and sextuplets for three notes per string patterns. a must is minimizing finger movement. dont move away from the stings any farther than necessary.

Yngwie said it. When it sounds good , it's good. He said nothing about diarrhea.

Great concept but I have a sincere question: how can you scrutinize the nuances of each note with so much gain? Super high gain covers up all of the detail. It's just a mess of square waves smeared on top.
@vanguard40652 жыл бұрын
not true. if it sounds messy then you’re not good. keep practicing till it sounds clean.

Yes and no. Although it is true that too much gain or distortion can actually mask your performance, just the right amount can actually reveal a nice technique or/and expose a bad one. I would suggest you to set your amp to find that sweet spot usually it's close to the middle.

i dont think thats what he tried to say malmsteen is not that good with english, i think he meant to sound musical, not just purely technical

If you can put 16th notes on a computer to help you hear them - What is the point of playing them on a guitar? That is like having a machine that weaves carpets perfectly then deciding to do it by hand. I play guitar pretty well, but sometimes (knowing that now the computer DAW is king) I feel a bit like a Luddite...

I thought about this years ago. But there's a difference between art and catalog. I haven't plugged my guitar in over a year But I play it every day. There is an art and then there is science. It is you who must choose. I told my high school counselor 40 years ago I wanted to be a music producer. He told me his job was to Lead Me the wrong direction

Can't stand the distortion on these examples.

It's difficult to listen, when you play fast, a note that is not in the strong tempo.

There is no learn guitar fast method. Or hear these words and now your a shredder method. you get what you put into it. It takes years of developing techniques.

The last line was omitted. " don't forget folks that one perfectly chosen note can say much more than a million played 100mph with perfect technique " :)

I thought music was supposed to be expression. The only thing this expresses is that someone has too much free time and wants to impress dudes who play guitar. Plus the tone here is horrendous. I’m guessing it’s not about sounding good but just playing fast. I feel like I’m less likely to get laid now just from watching this video.

It made perfect sense. He's trying to catch the fudged notes in the middle of a fast burst of notes.
