His playing during this concert is "DAMN" good. He always plays well but this performance with the orchestra really shows how good he is. Accurate and pinpoint playing. Tone sounds incredible and he's having a great time. Audience is lovin' this. Appreciate the Upload

This was just plain amazing... with the amazing classical music of the orchestra combined with the intense guitar of malmstreen it just combined with excellent harmony he is in perfect alignment with the orchestra, in perfect pitch it is amazing malmstreen ranks up their with the greats dont flame me,HE NEEDS TO BE MORE popular, for someone so amazing he needs to be more known I suggest one of his songs be put in guitar hero... that way people all around the world will know of his greatness

People can dis this man all they want but the fact remains that he is one of the - if not THE most phenomenal guitarist living today. All of these power metal people learned from him, but not a one of them can hold a candle to him.

This is a real piece of music i really don't understand how can people say this is too excessive Far Beyond the Sun is a great song but with the philharmonic complementing the song took a new whole level of art This is real NEO CLASSICAL in all its unique beauty this is not about YJM this is about his music. many of you just see the arrogant YJM. people this is music not a charisma competition. and i think this is best video i have ever seen in my entire life.

what makes this performance great is like around 6:35 where he does a little fill kind of thing. it's those little moments and fills where he gets caught up in the excitement and adds things in that make this stand out. i'm wishing i could make a song/solo based melodically just on those fills. : |

I'm also a HUGE Dream Theater / John Petrucci fan, and I've been listening to Petrucci and Yngwie for well over a decade now. I would still have to go with Yngwie over Petrucci as an innovator and an exceptional talent. Even Petrucci cites albums like Rising Force and Trilogy as being huge influences on him.

I believe your right. Mozart lived and died in obscurity. he was mocked and ridiculed, his music, hated. But we now render him as some sort of god. yngwie will be remembered, even it takes a few hundred years. His innovation and unforgettable riffs and compositions will finally find their place in time. Yngwie- greatest musician of all time.

You can see at 6:28 MInutes, the shadows that strings make on the fretboard shows its deep scalloped shape in between each fret. The Fender Custom Shop later produced these unique guitars as a Signature series. This features allows to have the pitch of any notes to be modified on the way up in a similar way as bending, only there it can be done by just giving more finger pressure on the strings. Also, this combined with an upward bending can give a mod even higher than a regular neck can give.

@PedrosBeenJamin Yngwie is an amazing guitarist. So amazing in fact he has as you point out become cocky. When somebody is over confident they become arrogant. Arrogance then results in lazyiness, and that is the problem with Yngwie's later style of playing. Melodies are joined together with fills because it's easy. Yngwie most amazing album which is full of melody and feeling is his album entitled 'Angels of Love'. That album proves he is an amazing musician. He just needs to revisit his roots.

Such a smooth vibrato!
@CoolDuckie17 жыл бұрын
There is more to Malmsteen that what you suggest. He created a unique sound due to a combination of elements. His philosophy of having a clean, single-coil output from the strat (clearer sound than the humbuckers used by most others), downtuning, using scalloped neck, wide vibrato, precise bends and very good combination of picking technique and glissando/pulloffs/hammer-ons as well as his classical inspired composition and improvising makes im instantly recognisable.

You have to admit, no matter what your feelings on Malmsteen happen to be: the part from 5:25 to 6:23 is awesome... especially when the tympani play in 2 and the rest of the orchestra in 3 (or at least triplets). A great amount of musical tension...

@KellerDude4 LOL! But being repetitive and also being good are to different things! To deny the fact that Yngwie is awesome would be silly!!! Yngwie is far more than just playing scales! His arpeggio's, vibrato, and scale work is legendary!!! He is a true innovator! The bottom line is, Yngwie is a beast!!! By the way, where can we hear your playing??? Because i would love to hear what you can do!

The piece of classical music yngwie plays before far beyond the sun is "adagio", allegedly by Tommaso Albinoni.
@AttitudeCastle13 жыл бұрын
@willisingo He wrote the parts just so you know... And tonal this is very well written. Also have you ever heard of a Concerto? This is a concerto for electric guitar, and this is not a 100+ piece orchestra. He rehersed with them many times, this wasn't a walk on stange thing. I'm not trying to start an arguement but as an avid Classical music fan i thought i'd point out this does have it's merits. I think it's very very good! He doesn't need to "blend" it's a solo piece!
