I 100% agree with you! I've always said this. What the hell was Nintendo thinking by allowing only 1 item at a time!? N64 allowed me to hold onto 2 items at a time. If I wanted 3 shells to circle me while I held another item it was never a problem. Now it's a problem. Why!?!?!? I love Mario Kart but Nintendo downgraded with that part if you ask me. Also, whatever happened to the trail of bananas? They need to bring that item back. I miss that.
