I think because of it's age, POC was one of the original rides built with the park when it first opened. I'm not too sure how much truth is in the rumor though. They replaced Mr. Toad's Wild Ride and that was another classic that opened with the park.

The murky atmosphere, the smell of the water... it’s all absolutely fantastic. Disney Parks capture magic like no one else does. This song, the fact that it can transport me to one of my favourite places on Earth (technically two- Disneyland Paris for nostalgia overload and how good it is and also Magic Kingdom because of how much I love that one too).

Im hearing this it's 4 am I'm crying cause I always loved this ride so much I can just smell the water and how cold but fresh it was the last time I was there was my gradnite I miss it so much 😔😭😢

I remember how I originally came in expecting some boring slow ride and was entirely blown away by how cool it actually ended up being. Absolutely insane sets that really make you feel like you’re in a town being invaded by pirates.
