Walking into Belurat you seemingly get callouts to both Bloodborne and Demon's Souls. The Scorpions act similar to the Spiders of Byrgenwerth in the NIghtmare, and as you walk up the steps you see several monk statues holding candles, that look similar to the monks from DeS.

@@Garupan Out of lore curiosity, where did you get that information about Marika's Village?

​@TheJvc95 The awful minor erdtree incantation has a ton of lore for Marika and is found in the shaman village. You can see from various ghosts that shamans were tortured and stuffed into the jars you see below Belarut Gaol. This clearly implies that the hornsent were conquerors who messed up Marikas lands so she did it back in turn. Leda even mentions the hornsent act like pariah even though they did much the same to others. They were never saints.

Poor Woolie just doesn't get that it's not his level that's the problem with the Gaol Knight, it's his weapon. I know because I just experienced it from the other side. There's another one of these fights later in the DLC where the boss is using hand to hand and barely wearing any armor, and every time he got close, my big old armor boy would just bop him with his giant hammer and interrupt everything he tried to do. It was pretty fun actually

Yeah I realized I've been taking for granted my colossal swords ability to just stun lock anything smaller than a mini boss watching other players getting their attacks poised through constantly.

I feel like that's just cheesing the fight though. Woolie just wasn't taking advantage of the Non-tracking attacks when they came out to step **through** and get more than 1 tap in from behind (He kept doing only backsteps/sidesteps)

​@@iller3How is using a colossal cheese? You can literally stunlock most human sized enemies with a greatsword, a hammer/great hammers, axes and greataxes... basically any weapon that isnt fists. And even then fists can stunlock with charged heavies

Real, the difference between Big Weapon+Big Poise playstyle and fast weapon-low poise playstyle is VERY pronounced in the DLC. There's several new enemy types that have like Havel-level poise

I think using bloodhound step as almost a default dodge is really hurting here. The game isn't built around the timing and distance you get from using it to dodge many attacks. It often leaves you in places where you're vulnerable.
