Really appreciate all of the dedication to this channel. Comprehensible gaming is my favorite. I think you could do some livestreams or let’s plays where you switch between English and Japanese. I think that would be great. Thanks!

This was super insightful, much more so than a normal textbook (or even some blogs)! Thank you so much for your hard work! Very concise but also giving lots of examples and full explanations without unnecessary fluff around. Appreciated that a LOT! I'll def be checking out your other videos, like the complete jplt5 grammar one which I've only just started on :)

The thumbnail for this video has the best-dressed Jawa I've ever seen! I hear his tailor is from the Shire.

Modal particles (words that convex emotion and not meaning) are always really hard to learn. I’m glad that my native language has them. For example we also have a ne that we say at the end of sentences to ask for agreement similar to the ね in Japanese. But I still really struggle to learn them. I respect all people who have a native language without modal particles. That’s a difficult concept to grasp. (At least arguments in comment sections make me think that 😅)

I don't normally comment on videos but I really want to say that you are the best Japanese learning resource on KZbin. I love Japanese games especially rpgs (final fantasy is my favourite and golden sun). What you've done and the effort is really appreciated by myself and many others. I really want to encourage you to keep going you have my support indefinitely. Im going through every single video you have and I hope at the end of it my Japanese is a much better level. You've also made me want to go back and complete all my old games but in Japanese. Thank you bro. Much love from the UK

Thanks for all your hard work! These are my favorite videos to learn Japanese with and you've recently inspired me to start playing games in Japanese on my own. I played through all of the Pokemon Pearl remake on switch and it was honestly a huge confidence booster because I understood a lot more than I thought I would. Now I'm playing Stardew Valley, which is a lot harder vocab wise but still fun 😄

Unfortunately this is a particle that A LOT of Japanese learners overuse. They probably think it’s like using “yo” in English, and that they sound cool or something lol. Jk…I don’t really know why, but I’ve seen people end almost all of their sentences with よ, which makes it super obvious that they don’t know how to use it. I feel like よ is one of those things in Japanese that you have to “earn” before you can use it properly. Anyway, nice video as always!

I think a better translation would be "Really" like: この人怖いよ - This person is scary, really/This person is really scary or 人がってなんですよ - It was terrible, really (enforcing the sentence) It was really terrible

For sure! The sentence translation in the video is more literal so you can see the function of the grammar more than a natural sounding sentence :) but you've done a great translation!
