Nicely done Pinkbike.. This has to be by far the best series out there on YT for a looong while. Just love Yoann and his crazy never fading non-stop energy. He really comes a cross as a genuinely nice and sympathic person. Fun to witness Adam's progression and all the tips from the pro's.. Not only EWS racers but aslo the input from the physio trainer and the sports psycologist. A whole lot of work that goes in to becoming a top level athelte regardless of what sport you're into.. Great episode but it seems like he’s spending so much focus on getting poor results and not failing. All his questions were how to deal with negative outcomes. I think a positive mindset would help significantly for him.

I believe they talked about that in one episode or maybe someone mentioned it in the comments in an early part of this series. He's improved a lot. When I started racing motorcycles one of my favorite pro riders told me " to go fast slow down..." He said when you figure it out you'll be shocked at how much faster you are. That's completely true!!

Yoann said something along the lines of "what you're looking for is exit speed" - great point, THAT'S when you start focussing on the setup rather than the feature itself. Great coaching! Also notice how noisy Adam's bike interacted with the ground and how quiet Yoann's takes were! (that wasn't just poor cable management and chain slap)

i can see why there was no real reply to the call for a mental coach. Having said that Adam got in a day (i guess) so much info that it would be good if he could talk to the said mental coach, away from the "scene of the crime", taking a few steps back and thinking about what Yoann said. Most importantly, we all fail and fear of failure shouldn't be one. On another hand, although it wasn't demonstrated by Adam, Yoann seems to be very good at reading the terrain, finding the line and explaining to his riding buddy why "zis is better than zis", maybe another area where progress can be made. Maybe he needs a dog too?

The most interesting thing about this episode is how it sheds light on how temperament and character traits translate into body mechanics. Yoann’s attitude and personality translate into a more dynamic style. Introverted people have less flow in general. I hope this makes sense.
