i'm so happy that yoasobi can make music like this that can (virtually) sound the same when put into a different language, even if we already enjoyed it as it is since music transcends languages beautifully. thank you, yoasobi. :)

Well that's okey that she translate it with English but Japanese version is MUCH BETTER.
YOASOBI really puts attention to detail! from the english lyrics that sounds similar to the original, and even the MV has changes made to fit the subtitles better!
The English was natural and easy to understand that the meaning of the original was definitely conveyed. I'm really grateful that they made an official English version. 英語は自然とわかりやすくて意味がきっと伝えられた。ちゃんと英語バージョン作っているってほんとに感謝です
I like how the words 'red', 'blue', and 'green' were incorporated into the last verse.

Honestly the best thing about these official English versions imo is that the lyrics still convey that original meaning. It’s just so cool that YOASOBI is breaking the language barrier themselves so that a wider audience can understand the songs’ themes. EDIT: That said, I also highly respect cover singers for being able to write translyrics, bc one of the hardest parts is to actually interpret the song to base their own lyrics on that interpretation. Y’all do amazing work 😳🙏

English cover song singers can't touch Yoasobi anymore.... cause they're doing it themselves, and it's impeccable It's literally amazing how they can make the English cover song version sound like the lyrics was design for the song... without having any of the feel of the song change.. it is indeed, incredible, by every sense of the word

タイムスタンプです 0:08Don’t know where we disconnected each of our stories Now we go, once again, past where we have split off 0:16Even if, many times, we have been separated, you can see We’re connected, still 0:29So, goodbye, farewell then We said the words, departed How many morning suns have we seen ever since that day 0:37In our respective new future destinations Extension of that day Today is when we meet 0:44With every moment that leads up to our meeting time I keep feeling my heart beating louder as the seconds pass 0:51As I look up at the sky that has cleared from the rain It was just like what we saw that day Upon us was a seven-colored bridge 1:01Here and now, we were able to meet once again We have kept our connection alive all along 1:08The things we talk about We wanna speak about Are never ending, overflowing out, and so Hold up, this won’t be loosening, for we know 1:16We were rushed by the seasons, forever moving And beyond where the roads could be leading us to 1:23No matter where we stand As often as we want We gotta tie our strings together like before We’ll meet again soon 1:30What was this? And now, we cannot end the reminiscence And those recollections, retentions 1:35We trace and we laugh Filling in sceneries we were living apart The conversation offer a shortcut 1:40And we don’t even need to worry about tomorrow As if in a machine, and we’re back to our past In any case 1:45Some changes that each of us have witnessed In total honesty, there’s been too much of them 1:52But we know, till this day It’s all of our surprise That everything is still the same 2:13When we look up at the sky, notice it’s turning white We’re exhausted and we see upon one side of our cheeks 2:20A gentle touch and a stroke from the warmth of the sun It was just like what we saw that day We return to our individual days 2:30Hey, every step that each of us have walked up to now Has been on separate pathways, we know 2:38But the same morning sun is above and shining bright on us We’ve got to, once again, overlap now 2:46Don’t know where we lost connection within our stories Once again, we return to what lies there beyond 2:55The things we talk about We wanna speak about The pages will soon be filling up, you’ll see So, now, let’s keep on adding to the story 3:01Even the setting red sun we looked up at once And the blue days of youth we have spent together 3:09Our memories won’t forget Never to fade away And like the way the greens will always sprout We can meet again some time 3:16Our stories always start With a white morning sunshine every time, and so “See ya tomorrow”

Translating Japanese to English song is very hard. The phonetic quality is different. Japanese has that rhythmic quality since it's letter is syllables, while English is more flowing and swaying. RGB is a very rhythmic song, so the Japanese version can optimize that qualities especially on the chorus. But, this is an amazing attempt on the English version, be it lyrical or pronunciation. I hope it reaches a lot of people's heart. Additional thoughts: For RGB, the English version is released shortly after the Japanese ver, so we don't have much attachment yet to japanese version. It helps to decrease the bias.
@CasperTheRestless3 жыл бұрын
honestly with the other song due to how it is kinda hard to hear and understand the english comparatively and with a few questionable choices in translation while it was good and of course welcome it had its flaws. On the other hand, this has both excellent and familiar meter mixed with more easily heard lyrics. Overall, I would say this is the better dub of the 2
@gerrysnatabraja3 жыл бұрын
@@CasperTheRestless agreed, its kinda hard to hear the English and there's some creative decision over the translation. For Into The Night, I understand why they make the syllables fit to the song more than the word to word meaning is. It's a very popular song that even non Japanese listener are familiar with lyrics, so it's popularity is a kind of it's own challenge. Yeah, this translation on RGB is superb 👌

When they're together, their color always seems white-ish (0:32~), but when they go to their own paths, they only have their own color (0:38~) and (1:01~) Also when Red and Blue meet each other, the color is (pinkish) purple, because Red+Blue=Purple (1:20~) Then Green joins them, to make the world colorful once again (1:27~) (1:53~) Here, their color shifts from white to their personal color, because they are distancing themselves from each other
