Thank you all I love folk music, I live in Washington State USA. I have a huge collection of folk music like Ani DiFranco, Ben Harper, The Carter Family, Charlie Poole, are just some of my favorites. And the folk songs your family sings I can't get enough, I just love the sweet songs of your music. Thank you, Kevin from USA I love you all

I've only discovered traditional Volksmusik Schlager one year ago, and Oesch's Die Dritten along with all the wonderful performers of Bavarian and Swiss Schlager. The notation says this video was published in 2008, but it could have been filmed earlier....it's not clear when this was filmed and recorded. It may be unusual for an American to be attracted to traditional Schlager, but I was instantly a fan after coming across the "Der Deutsche Hitmix" videos of the German Music Channel. I figured if I watched more Schlager videos daily, I could relearn the German I had been taught in my youth. Hah, German is not an easy language, and relearning the vocabulary is a challenge. But then....the Bavarian's dialects and German usage is very different. But the Swiss and Oesch's Die Dritten are almost completely different in their pronunciation. Last, Melanie Oesch is a profoundly beautiful woman. I do wonder how old she is in 2019? Gruss aus den USA!!

Great to know there is young blood still yodeling. Best i can do is sound like Tarzan and have traveled far south back in spring of 2007 to hear a professional, Kerry Christensen, in the Smoky Mountains. But is refreshing to hear a woman's voice. Hope to here more of Melanie's voice. :-)

i appreciate and enjoy the style of yodeling done by Melanie Oesch. My favorite style of yodeling is from yodeling clubs like Jodlerclub Wiesenberg or Jodlerclub Alpeblueme Herisau. A nice Zäuerli is so soothing while fräulein Oesch reminds me more of German style yodeling. Then again she is far better looking then Franzl Lang.

I believe this family is distantly related to mine. My last name is Eash. At one point in the family tree, the name was Oesch. My family came from Switzerland, then to Germany, then to Pennsylvania, then to Indiana, then to Florida. I have looked up and this family is from the exact region that some of my Oesch relatives were in back in the 1600s.

Sooooo wonderful to see this darling young woman be so wholesome in her words and dress; beautiful graciousness without being affected...Not that she’s perfect, no one is, but she is most certainly a stand out among her peers, also trying to make a name for themselves through flashy and trashy, undignified behavior, to say the least.

I like that better than the jazz they play around, However i would love to see a renaissance of the love music that was popular in the 50s-to 80s in America and i also heard in Berlin, Germany where i here many people crave for today, and standing around listening to jazz and people not dancing are not having the full enjoyment of music being played.

I am a third-generation American. While my ancestors came mostly from what would be called Bohemia in the former Czechoslovakia, and also some from Southern Germany and others from France, I have NEVER been a fan of polka music. HOWEVER, Hearing Melanie yodeling with such a beautiful voice is helping me to hear yodel music in a very different way, and if their music is polka-style, so what? She wants to overcome peoples' prejudice against Swiss yodel folk music? DONE! You go, girl!
@DougDreamCatcher13 жыл бұрын
@yippitydodah I'm happy to hear that. It's unfortunate, I think, that this type of music seems "uncool" to a some, and that there are people who passionately hate the sound of yodeling. I used to be like that, but I have grown to appreciate any good joyful sound, especially in the times we are living in now! Whether any person loves yodeling or hates it, Melanie Oesch has trained well and makes yodeling sound beautiful. And her being a lovely young lady sure doesn't hurt!

It's regrettable that when some people comment, only garbage flows. Maturity is in short supply. She's wonderful. If you feel compelled to express yourself as an idiot, then be bold enough to do it in public (where someone can punch you in your stupid face). Hiding in your bedroom with a PC, writing trash, is for Stupids.
