Hi Anita, thanks for this post. I'm finishing 'autobiography of a yogi' at the moment and been thinking what's next to read. Probably i'll grab Tree of Yoga and Yoga Sutras. I'm diggin' yoga philosophies lately and really liking the deeper meaning of our practice. Appreciate how you are so generous to share this ideas.Light and love🙏

Anita! Thank you so much for doing this video!! :) you're awesome. I'm already reading Rosen's book in breathing upon your recomendation and I think I'll go after Tree of yoga after this video. As I told you i really enjoyed Butera's book, specially the chapter about the klesas. I keep on reading that part. It's really interesting. Looking forward to yoga teachers reading list! There's so much to learn! Thank you again and I' ll give you some feedback when I finish my readings. Bye! :)

This is awesome Anita, two of my favorite things to do in one yoga and reading 😁 one little fact about me is that I am a read-a-holic I absolutely love, love, love to read especially on days when I have nothing else to do or I just don’t really feel like doing anything in general. I hope you have a beautiful weekend much love 🤗🫂❤️💕📖📚🤓😍

Anita, I just wanted to say that it's so wonderful to be able to watch your videos and get so much information completely for free, thank you for that! I really enjoyed this video and found it very inspiring too. I'm planning to make a reading list for myself to complete this year, like my own path for studying and watching this is super helpful in getting some ideas of what might be useful for me in my early days of yoga. Again thank you! Malin xx

Will keep you posted, haha. :) Thank you again and I hope you're well and your family too! Much love and speak soon! xx

I always wondered why you had the books organized by colors. Your bookshelf looks like art. I have mostly health and cook books but if I'd organized them by colors I'd have to get used to finding them. Right now my system of placement is such that I can reach for a book with my eyes (almost) closed. ( I peed sometimes! ). I will read a yoga book when I'm done with my GAPS Diet book and a book about reversing Hashimoto naturally.

+Cris Hawat Its funny but the way it works for me is I might forget the name of author or title of book I’m looking for but I always remember the colour and this is the way I can find it :-) Our brains work in different ways and the key is to find the system that works :-) I didn’t know this about myself until I colour coordinated. Re: hashimoto. Look up Dr. Habib Sadeghi (in California) 🙏💕

Great video. I was literally listening and taking notes. I've read some of these for teacher training but there are still so many left I could read! I don't obsess though, because the practice itself is the best learning tool :-) I loved Desikachar's "The Heart of Yoga". Thanks for this. I'm really looking forward to the next video.

Noemi Hijarrubia you are so welcome and yes, you are so right; we can learn about yoga by just paying attention to everyday life. glad you loved the heart of yoga recommendation. i think you'll enjoy the next one for teachers as well. we shall see :-) xoxo

Donna Farhi's breathing book and Nischala Joy Devi's translation of the yoga sutras are my all time favourites. Just wondering if you have ever thought of a kindle? I love mine, it allows me to pretend I practice aparigraha when it comes to my book hoarding ;)
@AnitaGoaWellBeing9 жыл бұрын
Melissa West i love them so much too. i have tried to read on a kindle but love holding the book, but when i go travel i something think about the kindle especially for the really thick ones, or an iPad. now that you say that i will look into seeing what books i can get on it for summer vacation. thanks for the thoughts, Melissa. you rock!! xox (i love the photo of you)

Thank you sooo much Anita. I was surprised that I had most all of these books, excluding the Ashtanga related ones. I do appreciate the recommendation of those and will pursue. Anxious to know if your private practice is Ashtanga? I am just now introducing the Ashtanga format in order Primary Series to my students. It is a challenge! Thanks for sharing!!!!
@AnitaGoaWellBeing9 жыл бұрын
Jane Watkins oh wow. then you are just as obsessed as me, ha ha ha. love it. def get the ashtanga books, they are fantastic. i don't do 'pure form' ashtanga anymore, but my practice is always ashtanga based in some way, (once it's in the blood it's hard to move away from ha ha ha) and i presently like to practice 'the rocket' (know it?) - it's a combination of first and second series designed by the late Larry Schultz, and i have to change it up with the moon cycles :-)

Hi,Anita,that is a great video,it is always great to hear your recomendations. I have few of thise, but here the only problem is, if you purchase a book from abrode, it is not the shipping that is high price,but border fee,it can cist you not double the price,but even triple. But,here on Balkan we are used to it, like we're from another dimension ☺ Anyway,it's not that there is no books, there is, I speak only for the books that we must buy on internet.
@AnitaGoaWellBeing9 жыл бұрын
tijananastasic omg that is insane and i feel your pain. i start friday off rhyming, ha ha. i have felt those extra taxes adding to the price when ordering from america and shipping is very expensive. i was so spoiled in america for years and that i do miss. thanks for your comment always :-)

Hi anita! I am missing your moon flows and yoga with mudras-what book would you recommend on yoga and mudras or moon flow? Thank you
@lariska18 жыл бұрын
Great recommendations, thank you very much. I only have one of those books, Light on Yoga by B.K.S Iyengar but it looks different, guess maybe a new edition... Are there any books on yoga that address the yogic diet, what to eat when you practice yoga. I know yogis are mostly vegetarian, but I was looking for a book that would give more information about what foods are better to eat when you want to start on the path of yoga. Thank you again!

+lariska1 Good to hear and a great question - Ayurveda is the sister science of Yoga and let's you know the perfect foods for your constitution and health. It's amazing and following the principles will help you in your yoga practice. A great book to start with will be Ayurveda The Science of SelfHealing by Dr Vasant Lad. It's small and thin but explains it all really clearly. All the best. Let me know if you end up reading it 🙏✨

Not familiar with Rocket!?! You must do video!!! Thanks!
@AnitaGoaWellBeing9 жыл бұрын
Jane Watkins maybe an inspired one at some point, but i might go take that training in the fall. thinking about it. for some reason 'the rocket' doesn't seem so popular in america (only san francisco where it comes from) but in London it's big and many places in Europe :-)

do you have specific times a day that you are reading?
@AnitaGoaWellBeing9 жыл бұрын
For research/studying that requires more focus its during the day when I'm fully awake and not tired. Otherwise I always read a book 1 hour at night before bed 🙏
