I will try this. I discovered this video while I am reading the book of Krishnanacharya’s son, The Heart of Yoga by Desikachar. Thank you for sharing

The core of Yoga in the tradition of Krishnamacharya is 1 to 1 (=individual) Yoga, so this video can only give you a very first glimpse.

The originality is the tempo according to which are given instructions of these traditional Hatha yoga exercices. It forces to decrease strongly the importance of the thought, which is, obviously, very interesting.

Thank you very much for this yoga session - it has been a life saver for me in this corona virus lockdown time. It is just the right level for me. I trust the teacher -he obviously knows his stuff - just like my own yoga teacher who cant do her classes during this time. The adjustments are very welcome. All in all excellent - I try to do it every day and have passed the link on to my friends and family.

It is a very nice tradition and we should not lose sight of these wonderful teachings (which are 1:1 by its origin). If you find the chance visit a real teacher!

Please do ask the Krishnamacharya Institute in Chennai. You will also find it somewhere in the Internet (depending if you want to have them in voice or text).

Is there a reason why Virabhadrasana l was done on left side first?
@peopledotorg5 жыл бұрын
I would say No! As long as it is done on both sides all should be fine. (At least it is not super important :-).
@archiesyoga5 жыл бұрын
@@peopledotorg Well it's actually is important. Right and left side of the body is related to Ida and pingala Nadi - Moon and sun energies in the body. Balance happens in the body and mind when posture ends at left side after performing on right. Only in a special cases in a therapy class asanas are taught on left side first!
@peopledotorg5 жыл бұрын
@@archiesyoga Thank you. I am sure you are right and it is a mistake that Virabhadrasana is done left side first. If you really want to know you need to ask the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram in Chennai, where this video was made. Elsewise we might want to be flexible as it is a series for beginners....
@archiesyoga5 жыл бұрын
@@peopledotorg No it isn't a mistake. I believe there aren't any right or wrong in this world. What is right for me can be completely wrong for someone else. Hence it's subjective. I'm sure there is a reason behind keeping left side first. Hoping to get reply from the uploader of the video as I'm really Keen to know and learn.

@@archiesyoga right is right for anyybody wrong is wrong for anybody these days people thinking like " in my view it is right" this is not correct only subject matter will have right or wrong for any subject there cant be 100 crore different perspectives on any subject since the country population is 100 crore roughly

I think that Sri T. Krishnamacharya wouldn´t be amused if he could see this Video independently from the orders in the beginning of that Video. The Fundament of this Tradition is the Yogasutra and that teaching based on a face to face teaching. Me as a teacher of that traditon and a holistic psychotherapist agree to what Patanjali told us about the qualities a practise of a Student should have an the first is a teacher by his side because only a teacher is able to see the expresion of avidya in the movement during the practise of asana and pranayama.
@shavindersingh49057 жыл бұрын
Could you give an example of what you are saying?
@kelderecgraugnom82017 жыл бұрын
An example? The yogasutra tells it, that teaching via Video is nonsence!Yoga is "face to face" based on many sutras even the first say that! If you don´t believe that, ask the ex-Student of Sri T. Krishnamacharya like A.G. Mohan, or R. Sriram or Dr. Kaushub Desikachar! I can´t explain that in english because my englich is´nt good enough. But if you had stadied Yogasutra serious with a teacher in that Tradition you wouldn´t offer this Video! :) Not even 2 persons on earth have the same Body, how Can you teach one asana without seeing the Student? 2.46 ff talk about what Quality a bodymovement should have that we Can say "asana" to that! Many more sutras were we Can find "Arguments" against "video-teachings" and not even ONE pro!
@kelderecgraugnom82017 жыл бұрын
Your answer shows me that you realy don´t know what "asana" in Connection with "citta" really means. I know this, because in rhe holistic Gestalttherapy they spoke about the same holistic concept. And you "ignore" the most important concept of the Quality "asana". I´m yogateacher, yogatherapist and Gestalttherapist and for me the concept of "asana" is so Genius and People like you throw that away, becuse the don´t understand that. It´s the difference between sun and moon, water and desert! And the concept of Patanjali is very clear and what you say is bullshit id you take the concept of how Sri. T. Krishnamacharya tought Yogasutra serious.
@kelderecgraugnom82017 жыл бұрын
You are avoiding me! I have made clear statements. And you are evading! I'm not talking about anyone but Yogasutra and Sri T. Krishnamacharya. And you are leaving because you probably have no idea. I can already see that in the video. And I'm annoyed by people who do not know what they're talking about! Don´t use "Yoga in the Tradition of Krishnamacharya" when you don´t teach it but nonsence! Thank you in the name of the Khyf, if you know what this is!
@kelderecgraugnom82017 жыл бұрын
You should better not think, because you can´t! Yes I realise indee! I studied at University and I´m able to think!, There are many differnt views of what "yoga" is. And by the Way, I know even the GITA. I think you are like the most People in "modern" times who speak about "yoga": there is no backgroud. You don´t even know Something about Krishnamacharya, otherwise you wouln´t tell such nonsence. I´m since nearly 40 years with yoga, and I studied the teachigs of Yogananda, Sivananda, Ghandi, Krishnamurti, and oothers. Then tell you me nothing about "yoga". Look for a serious teacher and do a dayly practise like me. Otherwise shut up and stay quiet!
