Your pathiya recipe series have been my saviour aunty. Usually we boil the vegetables first and add the boiled dal or boil both the vegetables and dal together and then only add turmeric,salt,etc.after both the vegetables and dal are well cooked.

Mami very nice to hear ho w to go about cooking for the newly delivered mothers. Very helpful hinnts. While making these kootu can not we add just water to the vegetables first and cook them with salt and then add the cooked dhal so that the dhal does not have to be recooked along with the vegetables. I was just wondering whether the dhal will loose some nutrients having been overcooked again with the vegetables. Just a thought.

I delivered both my kids in USA 20 years ago ,I never ate any pathiya samayal . I didnt have any tummy or gas problem. I drank lot of milk , ghee and regular food except fried food and potatoes . In fact they serve dinner with cakes and milk shakes in the hospital after delivery . If you have assistance you can follow all this but this is a very good recipe . We can make it and eat even if you are not post Partum.

Yes you can give me tea leaves murungai keerai beans all green vegetable but in generally we don't use tour Daal ured Dal for the post delivery it is up to you.
