Alright boys time to take up some notes. What you just witnessed is the epitome of Tamil Hip-hop. Yeah many Tamil rap songs have been released before this song, but this song... when the audio got released in 2006 and video by 2007, it became the anthem as well as the song which inspired the birth of 90% of the Tamil rappers out there today (I'm one of them). This song is actually a remix of an 80s song called "Madai Thirandhu" composed by the legendary Tamil music composer Ilayaraja and sung by another legend the late S.P.Balasubramaniam. But the remix became more of a hit than the original (or rather the remix made people to go back and listen to the original). The song is about the struggle of every Tamil Hip-hop artist who were always considered unconventional from popular music of the time and were not recognized properly in the 90s and early 2000s. The song states the sacrifices and hardships they had to undergo to represent themselves. This album by Yogi B n Natchatra changed the whole scenario. Tamil cinema music directors started using tamil raps and rappers more. I can go on and on about this one song (let alone the album). Try to find a translation of the song.. you will get the feel.
