I live at a Tibetan Buddhist Monastery, and I just asked a monk who is also from Kham to tell me what he was saying. His English isn't perfect, so this is the best I could do :). Basically, Pema Dorje said he was a hunter before, and did many bad things. Because he was afraid of the consequences of his actions, he renounced this lifestyle to practice. "These young men (one's shown in video) came a long way to practice, so I feel I must say something. Practice is very important, because one never knows when they are going to die. We are composed of the four elements, and we never know when they will part. The four elements are your enemy, and there is not time to sleep or relax. Everything is impermanent. Keep practicing, rush, rush, rush. None of this comes from me, though, it's nothing new. This comes from Buddha." *Leans over to westerner; "I cannot speak too much because I am an old man and I don't know much. I am not a master yet, I have bounced back and forth throughout my life, but one day maybe I will get closer to enlightenment. Most important is your Lama. Second, you should develop compassion towards all sentient beings and never stop considering the suffering they go through and the state of Samsara. Never stop longing to be free and liberate all beings from the ocean of suffering. There is no time, you must practice always." Pretty classic Tibetan Buddhism. No, he didn't talk about the nature of the universe or uncover any secrets locked away in the Himalayas, but he is speaking about renunciation and a strong resolve to free oneself and all sentient beings from suffering, which is the foundation and prerequisite to any insights or realizations developed along the path. Besides, the true nature of mind lies beyond conceptual construct, and nobody can tell you what it is or what it's like. How do you explain the color red to someone who's never seen it? However, everyone caries the deepest level of mind with them always, we just cover it with a bunch of emotional garbage and mental afflictions, habits, and conditioned experience. There are methods to removing the latter and bringing forth the former. Pema Dorje just explained one of them; so to me, this is a more valuable teaching than if he were to just try to explain something that those without experience would be unable to truly understand.

How beautiful..... brought me in tears 😢. Me too i realize now how precious is our Buddhdharma and how important to learn and put in practice...... As a kid, I used to think practice Buddhism is for older people and when we become old...... Absolutely wrong! Life is impermanent and its very important to practice now..... or never.

@@i_love_tibet7001Again Master Padma said: Tsogyal, it is of utmost importance to exert yourself in spiritual practice while you are young. Once you grow old you may want to listen to teachings but your ears won't hear. You may wish to study but your attention is dull and your memory fails. You may want to go to the Dharma, but your body is unable to walk or sit. You may wish to practice, but the strength of the elements has waned and you cannot concentrate. You may want to alms giving your material possessions but they are controlled by others and you are not in charge. You may want to undertake hardship but your constitution cannot bear strain. Having displeased your master and Dharma companions, when old age arrives, you may want to practice but cannot. You will wish, "If I had just had the will when I was young," but that doesn't help. It is too late to regret not doing any spiritual practice when you were able. People who don't feel any interest in Dharma practice when young are no better than fools! -Guru Padmasambhava Advice From The Lotus born

Yogi Pema Dorje, drubtob, siddha and mad yogi, Ashak Tuthob Rinpoche's grandfather, has been retired for 50 years in the seclusion of Migpor next to Wakha village and Migpor, Nangczen, Kham, Tibet. He is known for his great yogic power - among others. Using mantras to protect the harvests from hail storms. When asked why he went to seclusion, he usually responds that he is a very bad man and therefore believes that he should live alone in a cave. As one of the first to recognize Tulku Ashaka Rinpoche and take care of him as a father - Ashak Rinpoche as a child spent 3 years with him in a cave on the sacred mountain of Migpor. He practices mainly Ratna Lingpa, especially Guru Yoga. Next to Gursim Rinpoche, who is Uncle Tulku Ashaka, his grandfather remains one of his main teachers.
