The snake touches the plasma part of the lightsaber, and snakes are ectothermic, which means they can't create their own body temperature, therefore relying on the environment to get heat. Snakes can't absorb too little or too much heat. The maximum amount of heat they should absorb is 90 degrees Fahrenheit. If absorbed too much heat, they either: weaken, contract anorexia, dehydrate, increase their respiratory rate, seizure and death in severe cases. Therefore the snake would've died immediately. ☝🤓
