If you feel the same and are looking for something similar, new and regular to fill the void, try checking out our podcast "Dont Shush Me"! This episode in particular really has that old Simon & Lewis feel, as we're very much influenced by their classic comedy duo! kzbin.info/www/bejne/lXTXh42nZtiSl5o We also do animated shorts using audio from our show! Check them out! kzbin.info/www/bejne/nmHSZqltg9ibj68 I hope you'll give us a try! :D I am Dave Exclamation Mark Yognaut, and I have the balls.

Female yogscast members are so badly represented =( it's like everytime a woman is involved she's either a love interest or is needlessly sexualised.
@purplesnails228 жыл бұрын
I mind about how women are represented because I've had to deal with sexist shit all my life. The Yogscast are not inclusive enough and it is a problem when society still has shitty attitudes towards women and girls.
@enjoysilence41468 жыл бұрын
purplesnails22 really? what is the sexist shit you've had to deal with all your life huh? As a guy I am less likely to get my children in a divorce settlement, more likely to serve a higher prison sentence than a woman, a girl is more likely to get better grades than me in high school, and go to collage. So yes, I'm sure there are many prejudices facing both genders but what's the point in whining about them?
@purplesnails228 жыл бұрын
At the risk of this comment not being ironic I'll fill you in. In my first job when I was 16 my boss told me to wear a skirt to work, then sent me up ladders until I refused to wear a skirt. Then he put his hands in my trousers. I didn't tell anyone because I didn't think anyone would believe me. Sure enough when another employee was assaulted SHE was fired and HE kept his job. My boyfriend at the time was abusive and forced me to perform sex acts when I didn't want to. When I left him at the advice of a "nice guy" he took advantage of me when I was drunk. I felt like a slut because that's what drunk girls who find themselves in those situations are right? Not victims of sexual misconducts because that would make the man the bad guy. This did make me wary once I went to uni, but even sober I was forced into a guys room, turns out his nickname was "Rapey Tom." Fortunately he didn't lock the door, like he did with others. There have unfortunately been further experiences for me but I don't want to go into it because it's really awful. When I left uni I found it hard to find work, being a woman of child-bearing age didn't help, we're seen as a liability. When I finally found work relevant to my degree it was in the care sector, low-paid and stressful work with terrible working conditions, why? Because women are under-valued in the workplace and care work is "women's work." In my last job (which was a majority male workplace) I was told I couldn't do what my male colleagues could do and was subject to lewd and inappropriate office "banter" constantly. When I don't wear makeup I'm "ugly" and take no pride in my appearance, when I wear it I'm "fake" and "attention seeking." The same goes for how I dress. I have been heckled in the street, men following me jeering about my arse. I've had guys with nothing on pull up beside me trying to persuade me to get in their car. I was told I was fat when I was a healthy weight. But like you said, it's not just about my experiences. Women earn 20% less than men across sectors. 90% of adult rape victims are female. We are expected to remove our body hair whilst men are not. We are expected to be the main caregiver whilst men are not, which is typically why women are more likely to have custody of children in a divorce. When it comes to unpaid chores at home, women are doing almost 40% more than men on average yet are less likely to be promoted at work than men. Pregnant women are also still being fired with bullshit reasons for it. 1 in 4 women will experience domestic abuse in their lifetime compared to 1 in 6 men. In games, movies and tv shows we are still rarely the lead character, usually being a love interest and typically a highly sexualised one. Men commit 80% of crimes in the UK. Boys are more encouraged than girls to pursue careers in science, business and finance, which also happen to be the better paid. The reasons girls get better grades than boys is actually a complex issue. In short, the scales are tipped in favour of men, and unfortunately the Yogscast crew are an example of that, and it's unfortunate and yeah I'm gonna whine about it until there's balance because I think it would improve their channel if they balanced it out better.
@enjoysilence41468 жыл бұрын
purplesnails22 Just want to say that was a really well written piece, I'm sorry if I came off as a bit aggressive but I have had to deal with too many feminists who either lie or just refuse to accept facts. I appreciate that you could have suffered because of your gender, but I would say that I have too. At my first school I got bullied non stop cause I was stupidly trusting and gullible. For this reason I got moved to another school where I was bullied even worse for about three years most days. I have some really awful memories from then. As a boy when I complained about this the school didn't seem to do anything, yes they 'talked' to my bullies but of course that achieved nothing. My father is abusive and both psychically and verbally me growing up. Same goes for my brother who is a homeless druggy with crazy anger problems. I don't want to go into detail but I too have been victim of sexual assault for the opposite gender. As a guy I am expected to 'toughen up' when it comes to my chronic depression that makes me regret every moment of existence. Ok now for your arguments, taking no pride in your appearance is your choice only, wether you care about what other people say about you is up to you. I get made fun of for the way I look on a daily basis (I have long hair), and yeh I've been heckled. I'd say guys are expected to remove body hair too, that's not exclusive, it's up to you anyway, and it only matters by how much you value yourself based on others assertions. Being the main caregiver is a gender role which I'd say is less and less prevalent in modern society, so it's affect on the custody of children is in my opinion is just plain stupid. Women earn 20% of men when not considering hours worked, the time in that occupation, it is literally just a statistic of the money the genders earn. This is obviously going to be more for men as many women make the CHOICE to become pregnant which forces the to take time off work. Furthermore if a woman is pregnant she is obviously going to be a less reliable employee hence an increased chance of being fired, that's logical, it is your choice to have a child. Obviously I agree that the domestic abuse stat is fucked but TO BE FAIR, there are something like 240 homes for female domestic abuse victims in the U.K. There is 1 for men despite that not being at all proportional. One man trying to open a shelter for male domestic abuse victims was driven to suicide after being harassed for months as a misogynist and a bigot. The promoted stat is related to the fact women tend to take more time off which is their CHOICE. Ok let me run you down on this, Star Wars Rouge, female lead, Star Wars VIII, female lead, there are plenty such films and men are also just as sexualised in such incredibly popular films and books like Fifty shades, written for female readers. Men commit 80% of crimes. Ok. Now what if I told you despite being the minority the majority of gang murders in the US were committed by black people. You would tell me that I would be racist for saying it is to do with their race, and I would agree. The exact same goes for men. I think for myself, despite being encouraged to take sciences I've chosen subjects such as psychology and theology. I would say that we are seeing this from different perspectives so it's hard to understand each other's viewpoint, it is unlikely we are going to agree on whether society is biased in favour of men. Thanks for the discourse tho! :)
