I have pulled brand new yokes & components from Dana Spicer boxes that had run out every which way you could imagine. Step 1. Chuck in lathe and spin. Observe all critical points.

I second bent output shaft, I await your result

The output shaft itself does the same thing. I just put the yolk on there to illustrate the movement. I really wish I'd have used some V-blocks and mic'd the shaft when I did the whole T5 rebuilt. Live and learn...

Well U joints like that travel in elliptical path but with either splines loose or not enough terth depth engagement can see the wobble instead of then the force into trans then trans mount taking up thst wobble so wont see it do that
@philippetays4263 Жыл бұрын
that ecentric wobble should not be there, what is wrong
@shortattentionspangarage1312 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the replies everyone. Looks like I'm tearing the trans apart again. This time I'm going with a G-Force mainshaft and gearset.

Take the yoke off, spin out put on trans see if it wobbles, if not, remove u joint put yoke back on trans, Spin. Keep going till you find problem.

It does. This was just easier to get a video of considering it's fully installed in the Cobra.

Thinking the yoke is not engaging the trans deep enough 🤷♂️

Yep

Had a truck awhile back that was doing the same thing. A worn output shaft bushing in the transmission can allow it to wobble too.
@shortattentionspangarage1312 Жыл бұрын
Yes it is. This is a Cobra, with a 10" driveshaft.
@shortattentionspangarage1312 Жыл бұрын
@@jeremypike9153 I agree, but this eccentricity is consistent in a circular pattern. Also, when I have the driveshaft off the output shaft has zero play.
